The hot water system had an airlock in it - I looked up the problem on google and managed to sort it myself!!! Who needs a plumber!?

Well done, Luckygirl
I get so frustrated when I hear of some of the simplest things that people call out the professionals for.
Plumbing isn't rocket science but the trade don't want you to know that ?

Our elderly neighbour’s boiler wasn’t working, couldn’t get hold of the plumber. DH and I went round armed with the I pad as she couldn’t find instruction book. I read out from the you tube manual while DH carried out instructions. Bingo!
Since then, went round a few times to sort it.
She’s now in a home, her property just been sold, hope new owners are DIY’ers.!

First thing I did when I was separated was buy a toolbox and tools. Women are just as capable as men! Good for you Luckygirl!
However I still get tradesmen when its best.

Well done Lucky.

I felt a great sense of achievement doing some plumbing myself too. My toilet flush broke, and I ordered and installed a new part myself.

As you say, who needs a plumber. ?
