Pure linen bedlinen - scratchy!

Googled the question. Wash with white vinegar and baking soda seems to be one solution, and not to use fabric softener. Wash in cool water. Don't over dry and iron while slightly damp.

Bought linen sheets last year from the White company sale, not scratchy at all! Try a really hot wash?

Hi, Last year, I bought (at great expense!) some pure linen bedlinen. It looks lovely, but is so hard and scratchy to sleep in - so much so that I am thinking of getting rid of it. I've washed it several times, totally in line with the manufacturer's instructions, and it is STILL scratchy! Ideas would be welcomed please - otherwise it goes to the charity shop, and I've wasted over £200.
