I want to up-date a small shower room. Nothing complicated just new sanitary ware. Has anyone done this recently who can offer advice as I don’t know whether to find a specialist bathroom shop who will take on the whole project for me, which is my preference, or just find a plumber? I have had bad luck with plumbers over the years. I really don’t want to have to project manage it all myself. What have other people done?

Hi Esther, before Christmas we had a total revamp of our bathroom as we had a very 70s blue bath, sink and loo!
We were lucky in knowing a very good builder/plumber who did the job for us but before we decided we checked out several ways of doing it.
We found that specialist bathroom places were very expensive and also had a minimum order price, which may be too much for you if you just need a simple shower unit.
Assuming you are in the UK try your local Age UK as they have lists of plumbers etc. They don't 'recommend' as such but the names on their lists have been checked out.
When you get the list, contact several before choosing one and ask to see photos some of their work - they generally take photos of before and after for their websites.
Good luck - we are delighted with ours!!!
