Put up with it?

Henrys last forever and I love mine but can't carry upstairs now so bought a cordless GTech for bedrooms. What a disappointment. Gave up on me after a few months so I phoned customer services and bought spare part as suggested. Just throwing money away so bought a second Henry to keep upstairs. It will see me out!

I have an old style Electrolux push along vacuum that I bought in the 1980s it does the job really well and I have 2 dogs. I don't think o want to pay the prices for s new which one corded or cordless. I also have carpets throughout, no hard floors.

I needed a new vacuum cleaner and looked for the lightest, I was impressed by reviews of all the different cordless stick vacuums but ended up with GTech K9 as it was the lightest on the market. I'm so pleased with it, I can manage it easily with my arthritic hands and wrists and it copes with all the hair from my ragdoll cat with ease. I charged it yesterday and vaccumed the whole house including upholstery today and it is still almost fully charged. Would definitely recommend it.

After 4 Dysons which were all pretty useless & 3 were returned to shop I bought a Sebo Pet Automatic. It is not cordless but they did do a cordless one.
Absolutely brilliant & easy to use- long enough attachment to do stairs from the bottom to top without moving the machine.
I read that they use Sebo machines at Buckingham Palace so if it is good enough for Her Maj. it is good enough for me.
Had it 4 years now & never a problem.

I had a Bosch washing machine which I sold after only a year of use because I hated it so much. I made sure I did plenty of research before buying its replacement. I do most of my washing in the "quick wash" programme, which on most machines would only then do a slow spin as part of the setting so you would then have to return to the machine and re-set the spin. I found most Beko machines let you choose the setting and the spin speed separately, so it's all done in one. It's brilliant. It's also a 10 kilo wash load and I've never had any trouble with it (so far - 3 years old now). If it blew up tomorrow, I'd buy the same make without doubt.

I have a Shark cordless liftaway and it is the best vacuum I have ever had. I have two Birman cats and I asked on their cat club Facebook page which they're recommend, and the Shark Pet one was overwhelmingly top. Has made my stairs carpet look like new.

I got a Sebo upright and it’s brilliant. It has all the tools and I wouldn’t swop it. Daughter in law used it and was so impressed she bought one too. It’s suction is very strong, even professionals use it.

I thought the GTec K9 was the bees knees and wrote positive feedback on their sight. Even bought my two daughters one each. Just over a year into using it it wasn’t very good and I noticed they’d upgraded it. ( Microsoft used to sell programmes and wait for customer feedback to smooth out the blips.). I now have a Shark Liftaway and it’s so versatile and does was it says on the tin. Love it!!!

I kept my very heavy powerful sebo when I moved, brilliant in the garage, I have a foam floor. Too heavy in the house. I also had a miele, other house, sebo upstairs and miele downstairs. I had sisal carpet upstairs and hard floors downstairs and that combo worked well

Now I keep my miele with its hepa filter in my cloakroom and it comes out when I have cleaned my fire. I got sucked into buying a shark cordless that bends and goes under everything and of all of them, if I could only keep one then it would be the shark. The head comes off and is great on the stairs and it takes up minimal room and is so light

It doesn`t stop there: my neighbour got a cleaner 9 years ago and I got a roomba, which was paid for, relatively speaking if I had got a cleaner, in 2 years. I use that roomba more than any other cleaner, turn it on and he beavers away in whatever room. He is what I use to clean upstairs, except for once in a while. Does an ace fab job.

Another reason for keeping sebo was the dry carpet cleaning aspect, I have lots of rugs that I use sebo powder on once a year

Ahh- the microwave! I bought a new one last year and it is so complicated, I still haven't worked out how to do anything more than use it on full power. Can't defrost or remember any of the other 'simple, automatic' things it's supposed to do, no matter how often I read the instructions!

get rid of it. life is too short. love, love, love my cordless dyson.

I have had this and gave the offending vacuum to my son . I then went back to my trusted hetty . If the vacuum is in good nick could you not sell it and use the money to put toward something better?

Got to admit I put up with my cordless for less than a year. I've invested in a small Henry and I love it.

Witzend: I agree about the difficulty of trying to just spin hand washed clothing using a Bosch washing machine. I spent a fortune on a cordless Dyson vacuum cleaner and it is impossible to empty it completely. Do manufacturers ever seek feedback on prototype machines? Do they keep changing designs to keep designers in their jobs? And microwave ovens: their controls so complicated; absolutely counter intuitive.

I have had a Shark lift_away for 5years or more,best vac i have ever had,still picking up as new,it's corded, ...I did buy a cheap cordless stick type recently just to whip out to clean away the odd crumb or two after grandchildren have been round, but not a patch on my Shark.

G-Tech for me had this brand for in various forms for over 15years

I bought an unbranded cordless vac from Tesco at Christmas. It was £55. First time I used it I thought it was great. Next time the suction had reduced and it wasnt picking much up. I took it back to Tesco and got a refund. No quibble from them.

We have a cordless GTech Air ram, which we inherited. Its brilliant, very lightweight. We have 2 extremely hairy dogs (Samoyeds) and it copes with the hair better than any other vac we have had. We've tried many makes and found they didn't last long as they couldn't cope with the hair. The only downside is that it has to be emptied frequently, but that's a small price to pay.

Leave the big heavy Miele upstairs for the cleaner but love the cordless Dyson for everyday. Log burners and open fires mean a quick hoover up most days and it is brilliant for this.

Dont you wish you studied the instructions before buying Witzend?.
My Bosch w/machine has a short wash programme which consists of same length wash time but 2 rinses instead of 3! And still takes over an hour.

Nothing like a Henry/Hetty. Long lead, excellent suck and easy peasy to empty.

A bit heavy and being round, difficult to store.

I wish I could swop my Bosch washing machine that has no ‘just spin’ programme, for one that does! You can get it to spin only by fiddling with the ‘rinse and spin’ programme but it’s a bloody faff every time, and just after we got it I wrecked a lovely hand-knitted jumper - the wool cost over £70 - because after hand washing it I mis-faffed with the wretched machine.

I have a Dyson animal which I dislike. Find emptying it such a faff. Half if the time I get dust on the floor, then I can't get it clipped back on. I just keep it upstairs, I think that they might have updated the emptying process. However it was a lot of money and I don't think that it's fit for purpose.

Love my (20-year-old) Henry so much I can't bring myself to get another vac, although having broken a leg and now a hip a lightweight cordless would be much more suitable!
