Bedding

We have top and bottom flat sheets and always iron them as well as the pillow slips.

I really like ironed bedding but I can't waste my life doing it, so the answer's no, except for pillow slips.

I rolled my eyes at the posters who said they iron tea towels and then I remembered that I do, too. It's been a long day.......

For the first time last week I did not iron my bedding but have decided I will iron in future, I prefer the feel and look of ironed bedding.

I used to iron everything but now only the pillowcases.
My winter duvet covers are brushed cotton for warmth and always look ok.
Incidently, my pillowcases are mostly thirty years old, and look as new. They are Sanderson and Dorma.
I cant find anything better than these.

I've said it before and (being very boring) will probably say it again - I don't iron anything, because smooth clothing or bedding will make my skin look even more wrinkled, whereas badly-creased things do the opposite!

I am with GagaJo I also iron zilch. My mother used to iron everything in sight including cotton bras, bra straps and knickers.

I don't iron bedding or tea towels. I change my tea towels and dishcloth 2 or 3 times a day. I'd be forever ironing.

DH would like his underwear ironed, he knows where the iron is kept.

Yes, I iron them. Don’t feel I am a very good ironer, but still do it.

Life is too short to be spent ironing.

I'm with Paddyanne and Grandmafrench on this one. I love to have nicely ironed bed linen, don't much like doing it but worth the effort. I don't use fitted sheets at all only flat ones.

I’m with paddyanne on this. There’s nothing like sleeping on freshly ironed bed linen . Like ellianne I iron tea towels and towels. I accept I’ll never get this time back

I use poly/cotton and line dry where possible, which (usually) removes the need for ironing.

On the recent ITV series Flesh and Blood with Francesca Annis, in one scene, she had grey linen bedclothes and they looked dreadful, really creased and crumpled. My mother would have said they weren’t fit for floorcloths!

I usually iron guest pillowcases, nothing else any more. TBH after the first 24 hrs it looks no different anyway.

I hardly iron anything let alone bedding. Mr R does his own ironing because he waited so long for me to do it!

Always iron bedding (and tea towels).

Never the bottom fitted sheet, as others have said. Most of my duvet covers don’t need ironing, just one set benefit from it. I always iron pillowcases though.

I like ironed bedding,mine are all 100% cotton so they need ironed and they feel great .If I had the time and energy I'd wash and iron them every day

I used to; duvet cover, pillow slips, sheets, the lot. But since I moved here 9 months ago, I haven't even unpacked the iron! And honestly, my bed doesn't look any less "dressed" now than it did when I spent ages ironing, so I won't be going back to that particular chore.

You are not a slob at all BlueBelle that made me laugh, mine are also fitted bottom sheets which as you say when you pull them across the creases come out,all of mine once washed and aired go on the bed , I don’t iron duvet covers either, and they look ok. But if they looked creased then I probably would

I m a slob but I find if they are washed on 30degrees and hung straight up they aren’t very creased I have fitted sheets so the creases are pulled out when I pull them on If I had company and they ‘looked’ creased I would, but on a normal basis no I don’t

My sheets are from Switzerland and jersey material with fitted edges, or else light towelling for the winter months, ditto.
