Who Said...?

“Ooh, look at the muck in here!”

“Life’s too short to stuff a mushroom”.

“After 4 years, the dust gets no worse” (or words to that effect).

“Never dust higher than your tallest friend”

I actually know who quoted all the above. They came to me when I was stood on the stepladder today cleaning the tops of my kitchen cupboards, a job I certainly don’t do often enough. They are not ceiling height unfortunately, but still high enough to make it hard work. I lay sheets of newspaper on top of the cupboards to save cleaning, but was shocked at the dates on them. ?
Must not leave it so long next time.

2. Shirley Conran
3. Quentin Crisp

Don’t know the other two, sorry!

HAZBEEN Mon 30-Mar-20 16:54:10

I know the first 3 but not the last.
1. Larry Grayson
2. Shirley Conran
3. Quentin Crisp

I'm worried about you climbing on a step ladder Calendargirl!
My kitchen cupboards have thick paper on them and probably do need cleaning but they will have to wait.

1 Larry Grayson
2 Shirley Conran
3 Quentin Crisp
4 don't know

Four more:

5 I make no secret of the fact that I would rather lie on a sofa than clean beneath it

6 I hate housework. You make the beds, you wash the dishes and six months later you have to start all over again

7 housework can't kill you, but why take the chance?

8 My idea of a superwoman is someone who scrubs her own floors

5 Shirley Conran
6 Joan Rivers
Don't know the others, but whole-heartedly agree.

Yes and Yes!
Well done

Callistemon Mon 30-Mar-20 19:56:59

Oh, am I supposed to say that, or let others guess?

Davidhs Mon 30-Mar-20 20:36:14

I remember Larry Grayson using “ look at the muck on the ceiling” along with “ shut that door” can you imagine that being screened today. Not to mention, Are You Being Served with Mr Humphreys “ I’m Free” and Mrs Slocombes Pussy

Innuendo was everywhere, I suppose we have Mrs Brown now plus the swearing.

There’s more.

1. A pessimist sees difficulty in every problem, an optimist sees opportunity in every problem.

2. You know you’re getting old when the candles cost more than the cake

3. I refuse to be a member of a club that would have me as a member

I'm trying to do them without cheating, and they do sound familiar

"When I feel like doing housework I just lie down until the
feeling goes away".
I can't remember who said it.

Bob Hope for No 2

I thought No 1 would be the hardest to pin down
