Missed Up Windows

Thanks for all helpful replies. Will get things sorted when everything is a bit more normal.

We have had quite a few glass panels replaced, no need at all for new frames.

We have one small pane in the conservatory which has gone this year ( built 2002) and I can live with it until a few more go. Will then get a man in to replace the sealed units which is a cheaper job.

Absolutely correct that you need the glass panels replaced not the whole window. They have a tool which means the panes can be removed and replaced much easier. I’d go to a small local glazier and just ask them to do it.

We had the glass in two of our garden room windows successfully replaced. Much cheaper than new windows.

I agree with Marydoll there are companies that specialise in this work. Google may be of great use!

I believe there are companies, who can replace the glass, with no need for new frames. Much less expensive.
My friend did this successfully and saved a fortune.

I fear that it’s what you say, but in our local mag advertising different tradespeople, there’s always these ‘cloudy to clear’ claims, and just wondered if they do actually work.

I assume you mean double glazed windows where the seal has blown and there is condensation between the panes? As far as I understand you have to replace the windows as these are factory sealed and the guarantee isn’t usually for more than 10 years.
