How do I remove head grease from the back of my sofa?

Try using some of the Vanish Carpet and upholstry foam cleaner, the one in the big pink aerosol can. I always keep some in the cleaning cupboard and its brilliant for cleaning up all kinds of stains of uphostry including spilt aluminum paint of my brand new Settee when DH failed to put the lid back on properly, and the dog knocked it off the coffee table!

I have also used it to remove grease from our caravan upholstry when it leaked out of a bag of takeaway that had just been delivered from the local Chinese where we were staying!

I didn’t know but googled it and found this solution:

Mix 1 part table salt with 4 parts surgical spirit.
Rub it hard into the grease to break it down.
Let it dry.
Vacuum excess salt off fabric.

Hope one of our tips works on your sofa mollyc

I swear by this stuff! I got my last bottle from Home Bargains.

If it is a cotton fabric, not velour, have you tried with a hot iron, dabbing it over brown paper paper? That was the usual method for grease

Helennonotion I agree, Elbow Grease is amazing (only £1.00 from the pound shop!) I use it to get rid of grease marks on clothing - quick spray before washing the garment, much more effective than using washing up liquid.

I just use shampoo or washing up liquid.
