You haven’t even got to the different views on loading the d****d dishes! Both parties have strong views on the right and wrong placements and don’t hesitate to change the positions according to their view.

At this stage I will be happy if Mr P just puts his plates etc in the thing, I can adjust them (once I've worked it out) What I dont want is to come in and find everything just left on the worktop!

In this house the dishes get as far as the worktop, or even the kitchen table, but never into the dishwasher. I seem to be the only one who can load it. Perhaps that is just as well, as I have a particular way of loading it, even down to separating the cutlery.

I never mix the knives, forks and spoons!

Seems husbands/wives/partners either refuse to have anything to do with them, or have a very rigid way of stacking them that no-one else can get right. In our household every time I put something in, I am told I have put it in the wrong place and it gets moved.

Yours sounds rather complicated Phoenix, ours is about 8 years old now, we switch it off, switch it on, it defaults to a medium setting and off it goes. Good luck with making head or tail of the instructions!

If you have the kind with a basket for the cutlery you are supposed to mix them otherwise the spoons "spoon" and don't get properly clean as there's no space between them.
