Leaking Shower Hose

I had a shower hose which I think had reached the end of its life. It was a universal fitting so silly me ordered the same which naturally does not fit. I will have to take the old shower hose to a shop and get somebody there to work out what a "universal" fitting is before I waste any more money.

Decided to give shower head and hose a good clean.
When I re-assembled it, water cascading from the join. Tried fastening it tighter, no joy. Looked it up on you tube, seemed there should be a little rubber ring which was missing.

Hey presto, there it was in bottom of sink, after cleaning.

Re-assembled again, result, no leak (hopefully).

DH is out all day, so pleased I could fix it myself. I realise all you GN’ers who are good at practical DIY will think nothing of it, but I feel quite chuffed with myself.
