Cordless electric scrubbers

I have seen these advertised and they look as though they would do a simple job in half the time, does anybody have any experience?

I specifically want one for cleaning floor tiles- I am beyond going on my hands and knees having had both knees replaced.

I do not mean the scrubbers on Argy Bargy- they would probably be cheap but I doubt if they would do the job well.

MissAdventure

It's here.
First things first; it almost threw me across the kitchen when I accidentally found the on button. grin

Sorry MissAdventure This just made me literally LOL! Good job I’d finished my coffee grin

I bought a cordless brush with several heads, but I found it didn't have much strength. Admittedly it was a cheap one, something like JML. I have since bought one of these, which I use all around the house for various surfaces. For the floors I use a non-rinse supermarket own brand liquid squirted on, and go over with a dry cloth over the brush to speed drying. The results are just what I wanted, with little effort.

It comes with 4 or 5 different heads, depending on what you're cleaning, a clip for the wall to stand it in when its charging.

Well, I can't say I've exactly been rigorous in my testing, but the results are very good so far!

I've done my bathroom floor, which is the cause of many arguments here.
Grainy, cream flooring and "people" (who shall remain nameless) who are less than careful do not go together well!

It actually stirred up a dark residue off the floor, and left swiftly patterns of it on the floor, which I then had to use a mop to get up.

I just used some cheap old poundland cleaner. Stardrops.

It went to the edges, and once you've got the hang of it, it actually swirls around on it's own path, making bigger and bigger circles!

I would be interested to know what liquid cleaner you used. Did you squirt something on to the floor before you used it and are you happy with the end result?

Oh dear, but please let us know how it performs when you have it under control.

Charleygirl
I'm going to go mad and order the one I put the link up for!!
I have a pale, slightly textured bathroom floor, and I think a scrubber is just what's needed.

Aha, I understand the bumpy tiles and outdoor shoes. I'd never let workmen in without shoe covers, though, and I insist that they put floor coverings down.

If it's a one off deep clean, though, I'd get a floor cleaning company in. They can work wonders.

MissAdventure Tue 17-Nov-20 22:14:48

Me too (and I didn't even know I needed one until today!) smile

I agree MissAdventure it has good reviews. I will decide overnight I think what I intend buying.

I know! shock

shock

Hetty, mine need is the result of buying tiles that are not completely flat. There is a build up of dirt in the nooks and crannies. We also sometime commit the cardinal sin of wearing our out door shoes inside.

This one gets good reviews.

MissAdventure Tue 17-Nov-20 15:41:18

There are cheaper alternatives on Amazon.
I'm just about to try and find one with decent reviews.

Charleygirl5 Tue 17-Nov-20 15:31:16

Thanks very much for your prompt reply. Even £139 was more than I had wanted to fork out.

FlexibleFriend Tue 17-Nov-20 14:50:01

It was originally up for around £160 which I thought was a bit much tbh and because I'd been looking at it for a while they contacted me offering for £100 and I accepted and very glad I did tbh it's been worth every penny. Charges quickly and the charge lasts quite well, plus it's quite sturdy and well built. It can be shortened to use as a hand held one but I bought a small one for that which also has wire brushes etc for the bar b q. Also after a while I was sent an offer of a set of replacement heads for the full size one for £20 which I also bought.

FlexibleFriend Tue 17-Nov-20 14:43:25

This looks the same as mine and it's the only one I could find on Amazon that does. Mine doesn't have any markings on it as such. It does have all the same heads as this though which includes various size brushes, sponge, scourer, microfibre cloth head etc whereas most of the cheaper ones are just brushes which is a bit odd. The scourer has had lots of use on my tiles in the conservatory after the builders left.

I had a succession of builders working in my downstairs loo and hall and I cannot get the tiles back to the pristine condition they were in. Unfortunately, it is not normal wear and tear.

Hetty58 Tue 17-Nov-20 14:01:56

I don't find that I need to scrub floors (except the porch) even with a dog and cat, they don't get that dirty. A quick vacuum and mop brings then back to new.

Can somebody explain why they need scrubbing? Is it due to wearing outside shoes indoors?

annsixty Tue 17-Nov-20 13:50:11

And me, just what I am needing.

Marydoll Tue 17-Nov-20 13:29:30

Me too!

kittylester Tue 17-Nov-20 13:28:11

I'm following this!!

Charleygirl5 Tue 17-Nov-20 13:25:45

Flexible Friend and Tweedle would you be kind enough please to give me the names. the one I saw on Amazon cost around £25 but some were as low as £16.
