Best household buys in lockdown?

I bought a new washing machine. And it was so exciting.
For many years my washing machine lived in the garage which was a darned nuisance and it used to freeze in winter.
Anyway, my son worked out that I could have a compact one in the bathroom, with a bit of sorting out. So I did get a compact one. It is marvellous! I can get almost as much in it, and no more trudging to the garage in all weathers to do the washing.

Not sure if it's my best buy as I've only had it a couple of weeks, but I bought the Ninja Foodi Grill. So far so good and no disasters yet. It will save us using the oven most of the time, and as it cooks so quickly, save cooking time.

After the demise of my faithful old Dyson cordless vacuum I bought the new Shark model and it's soooo much better. Easier to use, longer lasting battery and does a better job.

A crate of gin!! ?.

A metal table and chairs for our garden to replace the very old wooden set which had started to perish. It looks lovely and in the Summer we put cushions on the chairs and it makes them really comfy to sit on.

A box of red wine for myself and a bottle of vodka and gin for dh a George Forman BBQ grill,and a very arge patio set that`s in the damn hallway.

Are you aware this is the second thread on this subject?

My lockdown marvel has been buying my arthritic dog a pram so I could push him the mile and a half to the beach for his normal daily run around. Not so keen on pushing him all the way back but I did it for the three weeks in March/April. So glad when we could drive again!

DH is delighted with the Lakeland "hard floor spray mop" which he finds so much easier to use for cleaning hard floors. (Than a mop & bucket.) Also the cordless Dyson - a real boon. And the cordless lawn mower and cordless strimmer - both wonderful, back in the summer. All of these were items we had pondered long and hard about buying prior to the pandemic. Then in lockdown we decided that we wanted to make our lives easier, so we just went for it. (Not going on holiday anywhere helped with the funds.)

Fleecy bedding! Oh the joy of getting into instantly warm bedding every night. Only snag? Despite the fact that the label says tumble, even on the synthetic setting, it melted the fleece. So now I wash it first thing and hang over the stairs, except when it’s dry enough to hang outside.

A robot vacuum cleaner! I read about them on a thread here on GN (now can't find it, as I didn't actually post a comment). It arrived a couple of days ago and it's brilliant!

no more lugging the heavy Dyson around. Yippee!

Not a “purchase” exactly but employing a cleaner in this last lockdown was the best thing I have ever done! Having spent weeks living alone, it made me realise how much I hate boring routine cleaning and that when I can go out and socialise again, I really don’t want to do it anymore!
