Everything crossed for you Shandy it’s been a long time coming and I’m sure that the move will go well.
Hope your Broadband arrives soon and you can update us all.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 11-Mar-21 08:46:40

Love your skip whiff such a lovely colour for a front garden!
Actually if it was sunk into the back garden you would have a plunge pool! I think I might be onto a money maker here........

Whiff Thu 11-Mar-21 08:53:27

Oopsadaisy1 be a bit cold here in the north west. ?

Franbern Thu 11-Mar-21 09:11:34

Whooo......Shandy - you now own your own home again. It has been such a long journey - hope it is all good from here on.

Hope all goes well with the move Shandy and wishing you every happiness in your new home.

Definitely a Red Letter day, Shandy. Will be thinking of you tackling the move on your own and hoping it all goes to plan.

Shandy57 Thu 11-Mar-21 09:48:01

Just had the EA on, I've completed and off to get the keys! Taking my dog with me so he can see it before he goes to kennels, won't be as strange when I collect him on Saturday. Feel very nervous!

Elusivebutterfly Thu 11-Mar-21 09:56:12

Shandy, congratulations on completing - that's very early in the day. Now you can take your time to move.
Luckygirl and Pittcity, good luck with your completions and moves.
I didn't worry about a lot of change of addresses until after I moved. I spent a lot of time sorting out my new gas and electricity account and chasing BT for my broadband, I left the rest.

Pittcity Thu 11-Mar-21 11:16:47

We are having to wait a week for our broadband as we need new fibre laid. I have just bought a months worth of unlimited 4g so we can keep in touch. That's the most important thing sorted.

Just found out that we have to change GP and that's a print and fill in forms job and bring in with ID. So glad we have all our jabs booked at the stadium. Anyway we've packed the printer.

Tea break is over. I need to get back to supervising!!

Elusivebutterfly Thu 11-Mar-21 11:27:21

Whiff - I've never seen a red skip like that!

Shandy57 Thu 11-Mar-21 11:30:39

Just back from my new bungalow, it looks completely different empty but I'm delighted to find a built in wardrobe behind the bedroom door. I'm embarrassed some of my post has been sent there! My dog liked it and rolled all over the carpet, I'm determined to make my new home a happy one smile

Sheepandcattle Thu 11-Mar-21 12:47:05

Congratulations to you and your little dog Shandy! I’ve got a feeling in my waters ( as my grandmother used to say!) that it will be a happy home! ?

grannysyb Thu 11-Mar-21 13:01:16

Best wishes for you in your lovely new home Shandy, a long journey, but worth it.

Largolass Thu 11-Mar-21 13:08:02

Good Luck Shandy, wishing you much happiness in your new home.

Pittcity Thu 11-Mar-21 13:38:15

Congratulations Shandy.
Welcome home ?

Whiff Thu 11-Mar-21 13:41:00

Shandy ? fan fare . At long last your own home again. So happy for you. It's great you got the keys so early. Only good things for you from now on. Bet you have lots of flowers in the garden. Enjoy the rest of your day. Have you planned where you want everything put? ????

maytime2 Thu 11-Mar-21 13:56:23

Congratulations. At long last Shandy. I'm sure that you and your pets are going to settle down well in your new home.

When I moved 2 years ago, I was in such a rush to get things tidy that I didn't really make a note of where I put some things that were not used on a daily basis. Of course, as the months went by, I used to spend ages trying to find things and feeling quite frustrated in the process. What I should have done is made a note of where everything had been put, would have stopped me tearing my hair out in frustration later on.
I suppose you will be surprised what will come up in your garden this year. Spring is such a nice time to move as you will have the pleasure of guessing what each plant is as it comes up.
It's been a very long road Shandy but you have made it ! thanks

Luckygirl Thu 11-Mar-21 14:22:58

I am deightt3d to hear this news - it is great to hear people's moves actually happening!!!

Franbern Thu 11-Mar-21 14:57:43

Just a reminder to all the movers about letting the Electorial register in your new area know. There are elections in May. If you wish you could have a postal vote in your old area. But it is so easy one of those things that are overlooked.

ALso, have you all had your census forms? By 21st March, date of census you will be living somewhere different.

Shandy57 Thu 11-Mar-21 15:23:09

I was glad to find the census form on the bungalow noticeboard Franbern smile I'm leaving the census for the rental cottage in a prominent place with a card for the new tenants, plus a bag of fat balls! I'll miss the woodpecker. I still have a few addresses to change.

Off to the kennels in a minute, then I've got to lug the boxes downstairs with my 'treasures' that I want to take over myself later this evening. I want to leave the rental cottage bins empty, but the seller had to fill hers - to the top - and did apologise in her welcome card.

I feel most peculiar about moving, I think I've got too comfortable here smile

supergirlsnan Thu 11-Mar-21 15:27:10

Congratulations Shandy. I wish you much happiness and so glad it's over for you. My daughters birthday too!

Pittcity Thu 11-Mar-21 15:47:35

Yes Franbern we are in the process of arranging our postal votes and have left the census letter for the new occupants. If there isn't one left at the new house it's easy to get a new code online.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 11-Mar-21 16:05:41

Well done Shandy it’s been a tough one for you but I’m delighted that , finally, you have your new home ???

travelnan Thu 11-Mar-21 16:09:48

Congratulations Shandy! It has been a long road but you have now reached the end. I am so pleased your dog liked his new home. I am sure you will be very happy lots to plan.flowers
