Rishi has just confirmed the extension of the Stamp Duty holiday.

Yes, I always thought the stamp duty holiday would be extended. Our son's estate agent fears solicitors might now drag their heels a bit now the urgency is off. Of course the EAs are all about getting their commission quickly!
Our son is relieved as the person he is buying from was having difficulty getting removals for the end of March.

I have followed a lot of the difficult situations that you have all had to suffer, and although we are not moving, my heart has been with you all.

So pleased for you Shandy I’ve been popping in and out and am pleased that the end is in sight.

That's such good news Shandy - you might be able to relax a bit now! Well until completion and removal are done!

Keep us posted as your journey reaches it's conclusion. It's been a long road for you but a lot of us have been walking it with you.

It was all going so well.....
Exchange has been attempted two days in a row but it seems that the person at the top of the chain has disappeared and their solicitor can't do anything without their agreement on the day of exchange.
It will all start again tomorrow.

Where can they have disappeared to in lockdown? So sorry Pittcity, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Mine took two days too, I wonder if the vendor had to go into town to sign the contract.

Our solicitor is phoning from an unknown number, they have always communicated via email until now. Maybe they're not answering to unknown callers.
There must be an easier way.

Disappeared is weird. I hope it gets resolved tomorrow.

They've been found and we've exchanged
Now to sort everything else out so that we can move this time next week!
