Over 60's leasehold flat

2 years agon I purchased a leasehold flat in an independent living development. The property is 13 years old. The management company recently commissioned a fire safety inspection of the property. This inspection has found several problems with the property, in every case the report states the fault has been there since construction and did not conform to building standards at the time of construction.
The management company now expect the current leaseholders to pay for the faulty building work to be corrected.
Has anyone else had a similar problem with a national developer who specialises in this type of development?
How did you get it resolved?
Thanks for your help.

Have you tried Googling the developers name and ask the question about the fire safety problems online? You might find others have a similar problem, you might also find how the problems have been resolved.
CAB might be able to help.
I assume a survey was carried out before you purchased the property? What did the survey pick up?
If it’s a cladding issue, then you will probably have to pay.
