My kitchen floor tiles have been down 20 years and washed weekly with bleach solution and the grout is still perfect. Odd if bleach destroys grout because it must take a very long time to do it.

Hi
My husband is 80 and I am 65
He was diagnosed with Probable vascular dementia 4 weeks ago, and now I am having to put things in place, ie P O A and update the will
He is still physically fit, but there are signs some days that he has v dementia.
Does any GN know of anyone who has been diagnosed with Vascular dementia in the early stages and how long it was before it progressed?
This worries me, as my daughters live in U.S and Oz.

Oops. Didn't finish - you could try some soda crystals, don't think they are acidic.

I watched something on you tube recently about keeping grout clean - apparently it's really important to hoover well before washing to get all the bits of dirt out, otherwise it will mix with the water and that's what eventually stains the grout. And the best washer is something that extracts all the water out from the grout and dries it as much as possible. Don't clean it with anything acidic - no bleach or vinegar as that destroys the grout. Lucky I read that before using vinegar on my bathroom tiles! You could

DH is a ceramic tiler. Scrub with soap and water, he says bleach can ‘eat’ into the grout eventually. Then apply a grout sealer.

We inherited ceramic tiled floors and the grouting is the same colour as the tiles.

I read recently to apply the Pink Stuff on the grout, use a toothbrush to get it well in, then wash off.

Not tried this personally, but the before and after photos looked impressive.

You can get a pen to draw new white or colour over the grout, there is a choice on Amazon. If it is a huge area, scrub with bleach, and failing that, put new grout over the top.

I’m starting to spring clean and wondered if anyone could recommend the best way to clean the grouting around floor tiles please
