Today i plucked up courage to respray the wall light covers silver to match a mirror and tall spotlight in my front room. I applied the first coat with no issues. When i applied the second coat i developed a run in the second one, the first went brilliantly. Has anyone the knowledge to help me resolve this issue. Do i just sand the runs out and respray or do i have to or do i have to sand the whole thing before respraying?? Scared i will run of the can of paint!!!

I've not had any experience of this but... since you'd have to sand it right down anyway if this doesn't work, I'd be inclined to sand the run so that it is level with the rest, then lightly sand the whole thing just to give the new coat of paint something to key into.

If it looks awful, then it will be a case of sanding or paintstripper! Good luck.

If it doesn't work, I've just discovered a new paint range called 'French Chic'. They do something called Frensheen, in silver, copper and gold - I think. There is a Facebook page and the results of painted furniture/kitchens/PVC front doors are remarkable!
