I have a shed 10‘ x 10‘ and not in bad condition, I thought!I had a guy come round from a shed company to see about doing the repairs and I’m having new windows doors and a roof however he did not pick up on the rotten wood at the bottom of the shed and I rang the company and was very peeved but it is what it is and I need to carry on. On the right side of the shed there about two panels of wood that are really rotten and a few along the front as well but the rest of the shed seems to be quite good condition. It is dry lined and has electricity. Anyway first thing to do is get all the rubbish out of it and my son is coming today to take rubbish to the tip so will see how it goes and keep you informed…. As you can imagine any advice very gratefully received(As long as it’s not burn it down and start again!!!?‍♀️) And inside the shed on the side where the rotten wood is the floor is quite damp so all in all I think this is going to be quite A big job…

Just lovely Shina in fact am very envy ?
Just right for lazing about in a comfy chair with a good book.

That’s what it’s going to be Lemongrove, a reading room, maybe a few candles or a wax burner maybe but definitely no technology I’m not even gonna take my phone out there, when I’m out there I’m out there just to read ?

Loving the clean fresh look Shinamae presuming you may be having bed and breakfast in there lol.

So glad you decided to keep it an renovate and use the wood structure you already had rather than burn it all. Saving at least some! of the planet, well done.

It looks a lovely calm escape.

(when are the invites going out? are we allowed alcohol) smile

Look forward to the next installment. smile

Still a way to go but have got some furniture in the shed, it will look a lot better when it’s dressed (don’t we all%!!?) sofa bed is quite hard will have to get some sort of cushioning for that..

My Aunt and Uncle live in St Albans. They've never mentioned a nudist colony. Hmmmm...time we visited again.

Shinamae Sat 11-Sept-21 17:32:24

Yes, my daughter has heard of it but not visited it to my knowledge ?

Phwooooaaarrrrh!

I seem to remember either a programme or series about nudists that included Old Bricket Wood.

JaneJudge Fri 10-Sept-21 12:00:53

Yes, there is a nudist village. Didn't they make a tv program about it?

I am actually in St Albans for a few days staying with my daughter. My daughter-in-law open them for the electrician and she found them broke, we ordered them and have them delivered from homebase but we have a homebase near us and she will return them today and see what happens but a big disappointment

She could have cut herself really badly opening them. Do you know Old Bricket Wood in StAlbans? My friend used to live there (not in the nudist colony…blush)

Actually my daughter is just outside St Albans in a small village called Sandridge and I don’t really know anywhere else around here…nudist colony? Must ask Jess..?

We had repeated broken parcels from Dunelm.
It wasn't the delivery, it was the useless packaging.

The delivery people just throw the packages around. There’s a Facebook page I’m on where people buy retro furniture etc and quite often the things they buy arrive broken. I suppose accidents can just happen. I bought some cooking ingredients off the internet from a company that wrap everything really well using paper and cardboard. I keep all of the wrapping etc in case I sell anything on eBay. But the one thing they didn’t wrap was some curry powder in a plastic bag. It split in the corner and the powder went all over everything: thankfully not badly as it was right at the bottom of the box. It must cost companies a fortune replacing goods that have been damaged in transit.

what a pain sad you could've hurt yourself opening them too (or the electrician could)

mokryna Fri 10-Sept-21 08:21:44

What did the shop say when say when you phoned? When are they going to replace them?

Shinamae Thu 09-Sept-21 23:32:21

The two of them came in a bigger box there was bubblewrap on the bottom then the two boxes then bubble wrap on the top but that was about it ,it doesn’t look normal to me….

Callistemon Thu 09-Sept-21 23:28:41

They don't look very well wrapped up - did they just have tissue paper round them? Even so, the box should have protected them and they must have been very carelessly handled.
