which colour curtains

I have had my bedroom recently redecorated in a pale minty green coloured paper and the carpet is also in a toning mint green colour. I have a beautiful white embossed bedspread and it looks very calm and restful. I just cannot decide on the colour for curtains. I feel it needs a pop of colour with curtains and lampshade doing this. Ideas please.

Dunelm have some lovely curtains in their Botanical range, white backgrounds with blue/green/ lilac prints.

Personally I like yellow with green, but not golden, almost lemon.

I'd do a deep chalky blue but you could try a shade of teal.

My minty green living room is jazzed up with cushions and footrests in terracotta, but I'm no designer.

Seeing as it’s a bedroom, I’d choose white curtains to echo your bedspread.

I agree with white curtains too

I think white too.

Is the paper patterned and if so what colours are in that?

I agree with white to keep it soft and restful.
A pop of colour with lamp shades and a cushion or two are easily changed according to mood or season.
Buy a blank canvas or two, a tube of mint green acrylic paint and a tube of the contrasting colour of your choice. Mix with a bit of water drop a big blob on the canvas and spread it around with the hairdryer, hey presto a work of art to blend the scheme.
Personally I like a tiny touch of purple with mint green.

How about a curtain fabric in the same shade of mint green with white? You could have a floral, or a stripe. As long as the colour is pretty much the same it won't matter if the pattern is different to your wall paper.

Try looking at the websites for Sandersons or Designers' Guild or others (there are lots out there) because they feature room sets and you can see how they've put together different patterns and colours.

Or a natural linen would be very nice, pale and restful, textural too - and not as harsh as white.

I would choose a cream to match the bed spread and put a mint edging on the leading edge or tie backs.
I have bought Dunedin curtains and hand sewn some good quality edging, it transforms them.

For my hall, one wall of which is very tall windows, I used new decorators cloths (he long ones that they use to protect stuff). I washed them once and they came out cream and have a soft texture. I then, just for decoration, blanket stitched around the edges. I used embroidery in colours to match a curtain for the doorway into the living room which a friend made from curtains from our previous house. That curtain is nearly 4 m long and she used 4 curtains, with wadding in between.
Thinking laterally can be useful sometimes.

I always opt for linen curtains in my home they bring a natural, relaxed feel to any room. Linen has that perfect mix of texture and softness, which works beautifully with a mint green palette. It’s also versatile enough to blend well with different decor styles over time, so I never feel the need to change them out. They give a light, airy vibe and keep the space feeling fresh and calm, perfect for a bedroom.

I would have white curtains and introduce colour through lampshades, cushions or a throw.

This post is 3 years old - I assume the curtains have been chosen by now!

I just hate ‘pops’ of colour. Even the expression makes my jaw ache. I would go for white curtains , keep it simple
