Can't believe I'm thinking this but have socks on and shawl on watching TV..my late Mom will come and haunt me ?

I had mine on at the weekend for a short blast of heat! I do live on Scotland though. ?

Haven't put the heating on yet - but bed socks were on for the last two nights.

Barmeyoldbat Thu 19-Aug-21 11:47:07

I have a hot water bottle and a blanket while watching tv and nearly put the heating on last night.

It has gone a bit chilly especially at night. Had me thinking of my electric blanket! Then thought but that’s 2 months away when October comes.

I know I’m in the south but I’ve still got Summer quilt and windows wide open in the bedroom at night, some people just feel the cold more. Do what makes you comfortable.

Not had the heating on for months, but have wrapped myself in my snuggly blanket a few times. Mr. B. can’t stand the heat and I feel the cold, but we manage to rub along happily somehow smile. I do like to warm my cold feet on his warm legs though!

I live in the north west had mine on for 2 hours last night to take the chill off. Freezing again today. Snuggled under a blanket.

My heating is on all year, controlled by the timer and thermostat, not the calendar! This summer has been ridiculous, one day sweltering in shorts, the next day socks, jeans and a cardigan.

I have had a hwb in bed for at least a couple of weeks and if it is a very harsh winter I can always take two to bed.

BigBertha1 Thu 19-Aug-21 15:33:30

Definitely a cardigan and leggings day- seriously thinking of heading back south in the next couple of years.

Still in winter nighties.

Callistemon Thu 19-Aug-21 15:40:35

Just opened the door, it was 27C in the conservatory!

BlueBelle Thu 19-Aug-21 15:41:20

Still in t-shorts and shorts here in east anglia and swimming in the sea

There are only two or three weeks in any year when we don't need the CH to come on at least for short periods in the mornings and evenings.

I'm currently wearing four layers of clothing, admittedly thinner layers than I wear in winter. I did do some scything this morning with only one layer on and the top layer was just a sleeveless T. Once I sit down though....

Scotland the Cool! ??????? ?

We had the CH on for an hour or so in the evenings at the weekend. Yesterday it was much warmer, about 22.5deg but today it was a heady 13.5 this afternoon, so I think the CH will be on again later. I’m in NE Scotland.

Heating was on for an hour this morning as it was only 14 degrees in my flat. I live halfway up a mountain though in Wales. It can get chilly here.

emmasnan Thu 19-Aug-21 17:31:34

Is cooler here today with rain but still had sleeveless t shirt on all day. May resort to sleeves later. I'm in the South West.

ninathenana Thu 19-Aug-21 18:06:11

No heating since April. Yes, it's cooler here in S.E. last couple of days but I'm still wearing T'shirts and haven't worn a cardi or long sleeves for months. DH is still in shorts.
As has been said, some feel the cold more than others.

We have had the heating on for a short time in the mornings, here in Glasgow. Last night, when I couldn't sleep at 3am, I did wish it was on!

Witzend Thu 19-Aug-21 18:22:03

Not too bad here in SW London. Sat in the garden earlier - sun was nicely warm, not hot.
Dh is still in shorts. I’m mostly in fairly thin, long sleeved tops - def. no shorts though.

A few weeks ago I did put the heating on a couple of times in the evening. Haven’t felt the need lately though.

Parsley3 Thu 19-Aug-21 18:31:32

No heating on yet, but I keep a woolly handy to wear in the evenings.

timetogo2016 Thu 19-Aug-21 18:38:14

Heating on low and bed socks ready and waiting.

I recently bought two, single size, fleece, electric over blankets to use for cooler days/ evenings. Perfect for those times when I don’t want to heat the whole house. Poor circulation now means I feel the cold/chill when I am not active. No need to use them just yet though.
Our heating though has been on and off a few times recently here in Glasgow.
