Carpet Moths how to tackle?

I was upset to find I had carpet moths in one rug in my house, and bought some moth 'papers' from the dry cleaners to put underneath it.

I was driving the other day and I also have them in my car!

Call in an expert?
Vacuum more regularly in dark untrodden places. Under spare beds, move sofas, lift rugs, get under the sideboard and …..use the vacuum nozzle to run along the skirting boards where they meet the floor, r e g u l a r l y!

Get everything out - especially carpets, soft furnishings, curtains etc.

Treat these things with a strong moth deterrent / exterminator.

Before putting everything back clean thoroughly and spray everywhere liberally with lavender. Carpet moths dislike lavender so continue to use lavender sprays to keep them away.

I think I have carpet moths in a flat I rent out. I guess I need to clear before I recarpet. Has anyone had any experience of this and how did you clear them?
