First Aid box: have you got one? What's in it?

Most of the contents of my first aid kit consists of stuff considered out of date from the first aid kit at work, and so I brought them home when they got replaced. Slings, bandages etc which I will never use.

Everyday items, paracetamol, cough medicine, plasters are kept elsewhere, which seems a bit silly. Well, I know where they are. Never seem to have the correct size plaster when needed though.

It's in the cupboard under the sink. There isn't much in it. If I remember from the last time I looked there are safety pins, a bandage, a sling and some elastoplast (they've probably lost their stickiness). Everything is in a wrapper. I've never needed to use any of them.
I do keep plasters and paracetamol in the kitchen cupboard.

I've had to administer first aid on nasty cuts in outdoor situations, while hiking or sailing, I'd carry or have onboard a mini roll of cling film food wrap. In a pinch, I've used the outside of what's been around someone's sandwiches. It's pretty waterproof, airtight, not completely sterile but clean, mallable around awkwardly-placed injuries, thin and transparent. I recommend adding some to a first-aid box.

The first aid box contains plasters, lint and crepe bandages, plus those natty synthetic rubber ones that stick to themselves and not to the cats' fur.

Disinfectant, mild enough for all age groups and domestic pets as well as humans. Safety pins, cotton wool, an empty plastic syringe without a needle, for giving cats fluid medicines.

Antihistime (for me) aspirin and some non-prescription tablets that stops runny tummies pronto.

All kept out of force of old habit from when there were small children on a high shelf, behind a door that can be, and is, locked if we have child visitors.

Paracetamol and Calpol on high shelf in the kitchen. Plasters, micropore, scissors, savlon cream and anthisan along with tweezers and tick remover in bag in kitchen drawer.
I also have a kit in the car with plasters and savlon, and another that goes in my 'granny bag' when I'm out with the g'children. Savlon is a magic cure-all it seems.
I keep a bag of frozen peas in the freezer especially for bumps. I just refreeze after use. I might swap it to a bag of sweetcorn next time I use it as I heard recently that this moulds to the hurt better.

plasters, bandages and ointments in the Dixcel First Aid kit box I got by collecting coupons nearly 60 years ago. This lives in the kitchen.

prescription drugs, I am not on any and DH, who has to take a lot, has them in two separate boxes (morning and evening) in a kitchen drawer.

Now DGC are well past the eating anything they find stage - both are at secondary school, i do not worry about them being in reach of them, but we used to be very careful when they were younger and place everything in high places before they visited.

Meds in a shoebox at the side of the bed, other stuff like Elastoplast in a high cupboard in the kitchen. Huge jar of Sudacrem (aka universal panacea) in the bathroom.

We don’t have to hide stuff from children.

My prescription meds and a box I’ve filled with many first aid things are in a high cupboard in the kitchen. With bandages,plasters,thermometer, various creams and paracetamol etc.

I have a shelf in my linen closet where I keep things in a containers.

Separate containers for wounds (bandages, tweezers, gauze, ointment), non-prescription meds for pain or colds, one for the dog. I keep a separate thermometer and syringe for medication for her. The hot water bottle is here as well. I keep a cold-gel pack in the freezer door ready for use.

Prescription meds for DH are kept in the kitchen with vitamins.

We have a couple of custom first aid kits in the bathroom. Our other meds are in a locked cabinet.

Yes, in the kitchen - in a biscuit tin , plasters, analgesics, indigestion tablets, Imodium ( I panic if I run out of that ?) etc etc.

Plasters and bandages, an ear thermometer, what I call the Möbius strip sling that I used when I had a broken wrist and then again when I broke my shoulder three years later. Scissors, micropore tape. Stuff like that.

I also have a tube of Germolene and more plasters handy in my bedroom for all the garden cuts and scratches I seem to get.

And on top of a bookcase on the landing we keep an old bottle of gin, tick remover gadgets, and some cotton swabs (for disinfecting the bites with the gin). That has been used a lot this year – 95 times by me and quite a few by MrB as well.

Dotted about the house I have Tiger Balm for itchy bites - midge, cleg, tick...

Yes we have first aid boxes one in our vehicle and the other in high cupboard in the kitchen.

We keep ours in the kitchen as that is where most accidents seem to happen in our house. It is a box we made up ourselves after Mr J badly cut his hand on a knife and the plasters we had were inadequate to deal with it. So we have sterile plasters, various dressings, alcohol free cleansing wipes plus paracetamol and ibuprofen. Certainly came in handy when one of our workmen cut his hand on some glass recently.

We have a drawer in our bedroom with all the normal stuff eg indigestion tabs, anusol, constipation stuff (there is a theme here) cough medicine, plasters etc.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen are kept in cabinets in bathrooms with a glass and prescription meds in bedside table.
