Tiling Over Existing Floor Tiles...

I remember the nightmare I had years ago when having a kitchen extension. The original kitchen had a tiled floor which was laid on top of the old tiles, which in turn had been laid on top of slate tiles. I wanted ceramic tiles in the new kitchen which would then match those on the outside patio - through big bifold doors. To achieve a seamless, level look, the old layers of tiles had to be removed back to the concrete screed. It took days of work, created clouds of dust and cost a fortune! I cursed the previous owners for not doing a decent job!

Not sure what to do about our Kitchen floor, after I had kitchen done. The guys told us, as the floor was flat, you can use Latex compound then tile over the top.
Get a "Floor company" in for a free quote and idea.
BTW still not done ours yet as I'm not sure what to do?

You can buy paint for floor tiles.

I have a nasty suspicious feeling you may have to do just that. I had to in my present kitchen. Sorry, I cannot remember the reason.

Has anyone done this ? We're revamping a rather large conservatory and we've now chosen the new roof. Looking at flooring ideas now but in all honesty can't face the thought of taking up the existing tiled floor. Any tips/suggestions would be welcome smile
