No frost Fridge/Freezer.

I have a separate larder type fridge and that does the same - I use a long craft type pipe cleaner in the hole and that only slightly improves things. I notice it is far worse when the fridge is really full - there are times I put a clean folded tea towel under one of the salad drawers. Mine is an Ariston/Horpoint.

I've tried everything I can think of to stop the water pooling in the bottom of my fridge. Nothing works! I took out the plastic thing, and have tried cleaning out the hole with cotton buds, a barbecue skewer, and several different small pokey things. My fridge freezer was new when we had the kitchen fitted 20 years ago. I think it may be time for a new one.

Had this problem also. I use a cotton bud to clean out the drain hole. Better than the plastic stick provided.

I have this problem when my DH pushes things right to the back of the fridge so that they touch the back wall. The condensation, instead of going down the wall and into the little drain hole, drips off whatever is touching the wall and forms a puddle. Have you checked that you haven't got anything squashed up against the back of the fridge?

Buy a drain snake from they’re usually about £4.
This will work far more effectively than the plastic tool.

Try asking Zanussi. If you go on their website you should be able to contact them and ask.

Ditto. The ice forms at the bottom of the freezer in mine, as well as wet salad drawer. I put paper at the bottom… No idea how to deal with it.

I have a zanussi its much older than yours but it does very slowly actually get a frozen lump of ice behind the the salad drawers which I deal with every month or so like you I regularly check the drain hole which is always clear. I’ve no idea what causes it though. The temperature is ok as I have a ioniser/ filter that shows the temp.

My Zanussi Nofrost Fridge Freezer, about 6 years old, seems to defrost leaving water in base of fridge. Have to lay a tea towel in to mop up the damp.

Have looked it up and see a blocked drain hole can be the cause. I frequently waggle the plastic stick that fits in the drain hole and nothing seems to be blocking it though.

Any ideas? It’s not a huge problem, not like water is seeping out through the door (touch wood), but I do like things to work properly. Keep meaning to buy a fridge thermometer, but fridge itself seems to be working fine (still touching wood!)
