Probably my kindle best present I have received. I have had it a couple of years now but would not be without it now. Much better that loads of paper books about. The ability to sample a book before purchase. No more getting to the end of a book that is in a series at 11pm and having to wait to purchase the next one

Depend on how you might be used to hand washing. I rinse my dishes first using cold water, into the small sink. Wash hot with a smal squeeze of fairy, then quick rinse and stand to air dry. Far less chemical into the environment and much less energy

Dishwasher is good for two or more people

And, more ecologically sound than hand washing - uses much less energy and water!

Well done Mamma 66 the dishwasher is a more hygienic way to wash dishes.

That I prefer to wash my dishes by hand, so much easier to clear the dishes into cupboards and drawers. afterwards and they dry quickly. Two lots a day for me as I am on my own. I have a lovely miele undercounter dishwasher and only use it now and then eg if I am doing a good amount of batch cooking. Extra energy cost plus the cost of the dishwasher tablet together will now be far far more than the hot water in the sink

Plus I hated emptying a full dishwasher

I am slightly embarrassed to admit this, but at the ripe old age of 55 have used a dishwasher for the first time!

We had one in our old house but never used it as there was an issue with water outlet / plug socket placement. Prior to that I had lived in a house with a tiny kitchen. We moved in April this year but didn’t use the dishwasher, not least as I didn’t know how to.

Had three get togethers over Christmas, yesterday we had 17 with a buffet and two courses. Pretty much every plate, glass, bowl etc we own was used. Two dish wash cycles and all done with minimal amount of pain and effort. I am completely converted.

I love Christmas but have always found it a lot of work. Can’t believe how happy a labour saving device has made me! ?
