When I cleared out my parents home over 20 years ago I found scraps of material from curtains and dresses mum had made for me when I was young. I couldn’t throw them out and still have them. Hopelessly sentimental.

I’ve kept all my love letters from my husband from when we were teenagers ?? I wouldn’t ever get rid of those, but I was meaning friends that have given me presents over the years ie friend mugs, little ornaments, candles, well I don’t blame you Smileless I’ve got all my adult children’s pics they drew me, notes they had written to me, grandchildren’s pics, all in big boxes,

Sometimes I go to put something in the bag for charity shop that's been languishing in the attic /drawer for a while, & I decide instead to put it back out on display! Like you, most of my nick nacks were presents from friends. I also have to be careful not to come back from the charity shop with as much clutter as I've taken in, & a few pounds the poorer too.

Clearing out our parents' house after they died I discovered that I am very sentimental and my sister is absolutely not!! I had never previously suspected that.

Well if you're ridiculous so am I Audi I'm terribly sentimental.

We've been married for 41 years and this was our 43rd Christmas together. Don't ask me how he did it, but he gave me the most beautifully worded card he's ever given me.

It made me cry and yes, I'm keeping it.

I have lots of nick nacks that I’ve been bought over the years mostly by friends! And was thinking this month I’m going to start clearing out and giving to the charity shop ( ours in asking for more) yet I was full of enthusiasm when I walked into one of the bedrooms where they are being housed, put a few into bag for charity and then looked at the others and thought I can’t do this, I think I will keep them a bit longer! How ridiculous is that I ask you!
