When I had my 20 year old Dyson, I found you tube very good for repairs and cleaning tips.

I deconstructed and reconstructed my Dyson vacuum cleaner successfully with the aid of videos on You tube. Because the parts are mainly plastic I am always scared of forcing something apart in case I break it, which is where the videos are so helpful because you can watch how they do it.
The feeling of satisfaction is immense!

It’s so satisfying isn’t it. I used a utube video to find out how to remove the old battery and I just thought well if I break something I’m no worse off ? had a job fitting it back together but it I cracked it in the end. Well done to all who are uncertain but have a go anyway.

videos on u-tube for installations/repairs are so wonderful. i Recently purchased a new set of wireless headphones for my bedroom tv. Usually, I would just get my son-in-law over to install these, but he was isolating having tested Covid Positive. So, I thought, I will give it a go myself. The instruction booklet was printed so small, that even with my spects I had a job reading it - and was not clear. Over to u-tube - man on there showing me exactly what to do in easy steps which I followed and, lo and behold - they worked. Okay, it took me about an hour and half and would have taken SiL 15 minutes - but such a great sense of achievement,.

Well done you. Don't you feel a sense of accomplishment when you do it yourself?
I've fixed mine a couple of times using videos on YouTube. The last time the brush bar had stopped rotating. DGS2 was here with me and he noticed that it wasn't going round.
He went home and told his Dad about it. He was looking forward to having it to take to bits and was very disappointed when I told him I'd mended it.

Really pleased with myself today, my cordless Dyson was flashing red lights at the weekend and wouldn’t charge. It seems the battery was buggered it was 6 yrs old at least lol. Managed to order the correct replacement, remove the old one and install the new battery and it’s as good as new now. I’m just happy I didn’t either ask for help or just buy a new Hoover but solved the problem myself. "
