Did stuffed peppers tonight - filled the peppers with a veggie mix cooked in a pan first - onion, veggie mince, kidney beans, mushrooms and some left over rice. In the Airfryer for about 10 mins, then put grated cheese on the top and back in for 2-3 mins. Yummy!

I did sweet corn cobs in mine tonight - sprayed with a tiny bit of oil, then sprinkled with chilli flakes. Really moist and tasty.

After seeing the roasted veg recipe, I've decided to do some this evening, as a side dish.
I'm going to try air fryer baked potatoes for the first time too , though Iwill microwave them first).

Together, they should go well with the bean burgers that I had planned and which will only need a few minutes uses in the air fryer.

They look delicious, I’ve saved that recipe thanks!

These potatoes were good too!

Yes, I love mine Tina49. I’ve not had the main oven on since I got it. Thanks for sharing the roasted veg recipe. I’ve roasted veg several times and really enjoy it. But I hadn’t thought about adding spice. So that will be next to try!

Phew! They’re good appliances though, aren’t they? Loving mine! Yes, Grannywannynanny, I think you’re right about the draining.

Grannynannywanny Sun 20-Feb-22 09:38:46

I’m wondering if it’s slightly raised in the centre so that any fat that might drain from what’s cooking can drain to the edges?

Oldnproud Sun 20-Feb-22 09:32:00

Phew - I am so relieved!

I was absolutely convinced that it was perfectly flat when I first cleaned it. It just goes to show ...

Thank you everyone for putting my mind to rest. I feel a lot happier now. ?

Just read your latest post Oldnproud and realised I’d misunderstood last night and thought you meant the base inside the unit. I had another look and mine has that same slight bulge. I took a photo from 2 angles to show you. I see now that Tina49 was taking photos at the same time?

I’m not observant enough to say with confidence whether it could have been flat to start with but with all 3 of us the same I think it’s probably fine.

Either I’ve got the same problem Oldnproud, or there was a bump to start with - just looked at mine and there is a slight bulge!

Oldnproud Sun 20-Feb-22 08:03:51

Thanks for your answers Grannynannywanny and Tina49.

I'm at a loss to how it could have happened, though I'm fairly sure it was after I had used it yesterday evening, and not while it was in use ?

Those roasted vegetables sound delicious, Tina.

Oh, if it’s that part, mine is definitely flat. I remember cleaning it last night. Made delicious roasted veg - courgette, peppers, red onion, mushrooms, garlic, broccoli, etc., sprinkled with paprika, lemon juice and sprayed with olive oil.

I've re-read my original post and realized that what I wrote was a bit misleading about which part I mean, because I was using the word 'pan' when I meant 'cage'.

The part that has the bulge in the middle is the pan that the cage clips in and out of, which you pull in and out of the machine.

Thinking back to when I first received the machine, only a week ago, I'm sure that pan had a perfectly flat base when I cleaned it ready for use!

Definitely no obvious bulge on mine. That’s annoying for you. Did you buy from Amazon? On the few occasions I’ve had to return something to them I find them very helpful and it’s easily done.

I have the T17021 too, but it’s downstairs and I’m in bed now! Will look tomorrow for you.

Thank you.

The pan still sits in and on the base OK - the bulge is just about touching the centre of the pan, but not lifting it, and it still slides out OK.

Oldnproud I’ve had a look at my Tower Air fryer. Its the manual model number T17021. The base in mine appears flat. But if I run my fingers across it I can feel the outline of something in the central area. I wouldn’t be aware of that without touching it. To my eye it looks flat. I hope that makes sense!

Yes, that makes sense. That's what I think mine was like, but I'm not abslutely sure.
After using it tonight, and after it had cooled, I rinsed it out and then left some water in it. It was after that that I noticed this quite prominent bulge!

Does the pan that sits in it still slide in and out?

Help!

Since using my almost brand new Tower air fryer earlier, I have just noticed that the base (not the pan that sits in it) is not flat.
It is now convex, with a 'hump' in the centre,

I am fairly sure that it was flat until now, but could any of you with a Tower confirm this, please? shock
