I was also going to suggest Dunelm. I bought one in the sale for the back door and it does the job with my 3 dogs.

I have Turtle Mats and Hug Rugs. Both excellent, wash and dry very easily and come up like new. Definitely worth the extra cost.

Never heard of Turtle mats I had mine about 8 years ago from B and M still going strong ?

Well I've ordered one from Hug rug now, and it's in a colour that Turtle Mats don't have which will make a nice change, and only cost just under £49... ..slightly smaller than my Turtle mat but not significantly so.. so once again thanks everyone for your input...

I'd never heard of Turtle mats

The medium ones are around £50 so I may send for one - our present mat by the back door is worn but it was free in the first place so doesn't owe us anything after all these years.

I bought something similar from Dunelm

Thanks Folks, I've had a look now at Hug Rug, I'd not heard of them before, and yes they are very similar designs to Turtle Mats, but a little more affordable, so I'm very interested in those, so thanks again, :-)

I bought a Hug Rug for a dd. Made in the U.K. from (IIRC) all recycled materials.
They do a lot of different colours/patterns/sizes.
Not especially cheap, but maybe cheaper than Turtle mats.

Same here.. Turtle Mats are really good and like you I wanted a large one for my front door. Plus I have Amtico flooring in my Hall they are the ones they only recommended. Agree not cheap.
Have a look at "Hug a Rug". I have a couple that I change with the seasons.
Like the Turtle Mats you can put into the washing machine but not sure of the sizes.
Good luck.

Exactly what maggiemaybe said. Buy cheap buy twice.

I'm going to be of no help, Ailsa, as I just had to say that I've never found anything that could match up to Turtle Mats. I tried a few over the years without success, but our TMs have been down at the front and back doors now for about 20 years, and are still washing and wearing well. I hope you find something, and I'll be interested in the answers (in case I do ever need to replace ours).

Hi Folks..

I wonder if anyone can help with my search for an indoor door mat as good as a Turtle Mat without the heavy price.
I've always used turtle mats at my front and back doors, and they're great at keeping the dirt out, but they're very expensive..I have to have a fairly largish one.. which cost around £80 each
I really need a new mat , but now retired I really find it difficult to justify £80 for a doormat and I've tried a couple of cheaper ones from Amazon which promised to be as good as a turtle mat, but absolutely were not.., ..I just wondered if anyone knows any Dupes of Turtle mats that prevent wet and dirt being trodden into the house well as the Turtle mats do... ..I'd appreciate any suggestions, TIA.. :-)
