Black granite worktops

curlywhirly Man y thanks for this. I am going to have those black sparkly granite worktops installed in my new kitchen - work taking place in May.
Have never used any sort of cleaning spray on worktops in any of my kitchens, just hot water. So thanks for your advice and I will continue to do so when I get my new kitchen. Do you dry them off after washing down?
I am also having a black sink installed - anyone with any s?advice as to the best way of looking after this?

I have black granite worktops (now 6 years old). Never use any cleaning products on them, just wipe them down with a dishcloth that has been wrung out in soapy water. Still as shiny as the day they were installed.

I’ve had mine ( black granite ) over 10 years never had a problem, I have the method cleaner but probably only use it once or twice. Ive never gone overboard with any cleaning products though and always wash and polish dry immediately.

That’s what I do with my granite worktops GG. At one time I tried Lakeland’s Worktop Wonder which I found left a residue behind and basically seemed to be polishing muck into this residue rather than cleaning. Binned but it seems from the website that people swear by it. Not me!

I have dark brown granite, clean it thoroughly with hot soapy water to remove all the build up of cleaning products, then clean again with Method glass cleaner.

I use a very mild, well diluted spray for all of the kitchen, and then once a week or so, use Method granite surface spray which helps enormously, but I still feel as if it is not as shiny as it once was.

I have granite worktops, not black, I don’t use any special cleaner. I use the same cleaning spray as I would if it were non-granite. I’ll be in the replies as well, to see what others do.
