Whip up and down quickly!
Close and wipe downwards with damp soapy cloth, then shut the other way and wipe upwards
Leave to dry and then do the same but using a silicone spray and an E cloth- gives them a nice sheen and stops dust sticking

I’ve just replaced my Venetian blinds with plantation shutters as the slats are much wider making them easy to clean!

In the past we've had horizontal blinds and they seemed to collect loads of dust.
In this house our blinds are vertical and never look grubby.
It could br due to the outside environment, but it's a relief not to have problems with cleaning.

Try putting on an old pair of socks or cotton gloves and using them to wipe over/between the slats. No chemicals!

We lived on a tube line, so our blinds and cords got very grubby. I would use face wipes on them.

I used to take mine out and put them on the back lawn and wipe them with environmentally unfriendly floor wipes or washing up liquid too. Sometimes DH gave them a good swish with the hose pipe after I had cleaned them and collected all the worms that came to the surface for his fishing.blush

It’s easy to dust them but eventually they need a proper wipe down, especially in summer when the flies are around, blasted things. My blinds are too big for the bath so I close them and wipe with floor wipes. I know it’s not environmentally friendly but it works.

As it's mainly dust I use the dusting attachment on the vacuum - then cotton gloves on my hands - always wiping away from those cords. If they're really grubby, though, I wash them in the bath. I'm just glad there's only a couple of small ones here.

If it’s just dust I always close them and sweep a feather duster over them and close the other way and do the same. I have the same as yours. I’ve never wet them yet. They are in rooms we don’t use much though.

Has anyone found a good way of cleaning Venetian blinds without getting the vertical cords dirty, please?
