Karcher window cleaners and alternatives

I bought a Karcher, total waste of money in my opinion.

Angry.

A Karcher should come with a long handle, as part of the whole thing. They cost enough so we shouldn’t have to pay extra for a long handle!! Rip-off merchants! Is all they are! Confused

Mine arrived last week - Curry's have great offers on them at the moment. Same price as Amazon.

I bought the VW2 version with the little bottle. I looked at YouTube to see what cleaners work best and have used both the Karcher solution and washing up liquid. Both OK but Karcher solution was the best.

Spilt some water this morning (on the floor) and a few seconds later, with the Karcher, all gone.

17 cms, I can't get it right

Ooops scrap that, the smaller blade is 170cms/ 7 inches wide.

Mine is the older equivalent of Doodledog's I have two sizes of squeegee blade. The size shown in the illustration and a narrower one (probably 4inches/10cms) which is great for small areas. I'd not be without it.

A Karcher for me every time and a microfibre cloth to finish the edges. I also use it for cleaning large mirrors.

Thanks Doodledog. We have a lot of high gloss kitchen units so it would make my kitchen clean days a lot easier. We also have mirrored doors on our wardrobes in our bedroom and it is a real chore cleaning those. We don’t have much condensation either but I would imagine it would be a boon for the shower screen in the bathroom and the shower enclosure in the en suite. Could you possibly post a link to the Karcher you mention?

Another fan of the Karcher. Perfect for the shower and windows.
I use a few drops of stardrops in a bucket of water to wash the windows (using a sponge) use the Karcher to suck all the excess water away then a soft cloth to wipe around the edges of the window/frame. Perfect clean windows ?

I have the one with the separate water bottle, and I love it. You put a drop of washing up liquid or glass cleaner in the bottle and fill it with water, then squirt it onto the glass and wipe with the pad on the top of the bottle, followed by a squeegee with the vac bit.

We don't suffer from condensation, but friends who do have told me it's great for that, and I have recently used it on high-gloss kitchen units and found it was great for those, too.

Thanks for the input. I am just going to go on line and look at the reviews to see which model of Karcher is the best to go for, I suspect the more expensive model will be better.

All the YouTube bloggers who comment on living in Germany have something to say about the windows. I do like being able to clean them outside and in all in one go.

Do these only clean the panes? I seem to spend most of the time on the frames and sills, where dirt, compressed cobwebs and squashed insects gather. Sometimes a brush isn't enough and even a Q tip doesn't seem up to the job in the corners.

Mind you, I'm talking the legendary German windows here - big and wieldy.

I`d love one, but my problem is being able to reach as I can`t climb step ladders any more, and the Karcher doesn`t seem to have a long handle.

Another vote here for Karcher, other models are available but in my opinion they are inferior.

I bought a cheaper one from Amazon but was rubbish compared to the Karcher. I use mine on the shower screen as well as the tiles, really is brilliant.

I have just bought a Titan window vac, half the price of Karcher, but got good reviews on the Screwfix site.

Have never used one of any description, hope DH fancies having a go, my windows need some TLC!
