Anyone used this?

Did it give good results?

Was it value for money?

Have 3 bedroom carpets that need cleaning, no other carpets in the house.

Yes I have used one in the past. They do work well, the only two things I would say are be prepared to clean the machine before you start as some people return them in a disgusting state, and if you can, get two people on the job when you clean the carpets because it’s quite tiring to use. As you only hire by the day you will want to get all three carpets done, which is quite feasible if you have somebody to share the work. Good luck.

I don’t know much about Rug Doctor, but I just use a chap who does carpet cleaning. They do a great job. No hassle. And the carpets are almost bone dry after an hour or two. I think I paid about £30/35 per room. Others may disagree with me

Yes, we have used Rug Doctor and our carpets and one rug came up a treat. I agree with Casdon, clean the machine before you use it. Keep any leftover shampoo as you may want to clean your carpets in future.

My friend used to hire a rug doctor every year, but then under pressure to get everything done in 48 hours (the hire period) so a couple of years ago they just bought one from one of the shopping channels. She reckons that’s the best for her.

Yes, I've used it. Works well. If your carpet is very bad, I recommend doing it twice.

Don't forget to allow drying time.

Yes we have used the hire machines several times in the past. They work very well, but they are big, heavy and awkward to manoeuvre in small rooms, you really need to remove all or as much furniture as possible. The cleaning solution is very effective, and although the extra spot treatments and sprays may seem like an unnecessary expense, they are worth it especially if you have pets.

We were so impressed by the hire machines that we bought the domestic version which is a bit smaller. We do our carpets (only have bedroom and stair carpets) every couple of months and they come up lovely and soft and fluffy again, and of course clean!
