Bensons Beds

I ordered twin beds from Bensons in February. They promised delivery on March 8th. I had paid the full amount as requested 2 days before delivery date.
One day before delivery they cancelled and re arranged for April 8th
Then cancelled and re arranged for April 12th.
Now they have cancelled again but can't give me a guaranteed date.

My family were due to visit over Easter, they live 300 miles away, and have had to cancel, they both work and you can imagine the problems with rearranging holidays so they can both get time off together, not forgetting school holidays.

Do I have reasonable grounds for asking for a full refund? I feel from February to April is sufficient time to arrange delivery.

They have broken the agreement more than once,i would ask for a full refund.

I’m looking to replace our bed at the moment. Will give this company a miss. Thanks for posting.

Similar thing happened to us, again with Bensons, but certainly not quite as bad as your experience Exdancer. We ordered a replacement double bed, had friends coming to stay, Bensons cancelled the delivery date which meant our guest room was minus a bed when friends were due to arrive so had to cancel that On complaining got some cock and bull story about a mix up at the warehouse, but found out subsequently the guy in the shop who took our order, hadn't actually placed that with the warehouse. Then when the bed actually arrived it didn't have the headboard which had been ordered as an addition but was supposed to be delivered at the same time. I asked their customer relations department to give me the name and number of the CEO, they didn't do that but one of their trouble shooters offered me either a £100 gift voucher or a £60 refund I took the latter as my experience told me I wouldn't be ordering anything else from them.

Yes I would definitely ask for a full refund they have let you down badly.

As a matter of interest - how did you accommodate your guests?
My guests both work, and it's difficult enough in normal circumstances to arrange holiday dates together.
I can understand their employers being less than obliging if they rearrange their leave a third time, van you?

This happened to my daughter in the end after much stress she ordered from a local company who had a great stock of beds she went in the morning to order and they delivered that afternoon...such a great family firm and we have decided to try to avoid the big firms who under deliver and don't give a proper service despite all the advertising.
