Well, I think it's funny ?

My son was wearing a "vote Conservative" t-shirt and an "I love Boris" baseball cap. He's been spat at, abused, slapped around the head and told he's a brainless twat. God knows what's going to happen to him once he gets out of the house.

jenni123 Sat 30-Apr-22 14:18:47

Made me smile even though at first thought 'serves him right'.

It's a joke yes, but not really a very funny one, just rather predictable in its format.
I'm not a great Boris/Conservative fan and I do find some comedians hilarious so I'm not Tory supporter with no sense of humour ?

HPQ thank you, that made me laugh out loud and has brightened up my dull and wet Saturday.

Jeez folks lighten up! I would most certainly be that mum too.

But there is absolutely nothing even remotely funny in anyone not respecting someone else's right to voice an opinion.

When we find ourselves in the position of not sharing someone's views, we should say so politely, not spit, abuse the other person and assuredly not hit him.

Whether this actually happened or not is irrelevant. The very fact that anyone could make a joke about this kind of behaviour is worrying.

Are we really living in a world where it is all rigth to abuse those we disagree with?

Germanshepherdsmum Sat 30-Apr-22 13:10:23

Crude and tasteless no matter who it was aimed at. Reminds me why I find so little ‘comedy’ amusing nowadays.

Glorianny Sat 30-Apr-22 13:09:00

Oh it got me! Started thinking "how awful" then read the last line and laughed.

Sawsage2 Sat 30-Apr-22 13:04:16

Hazeld Sat 30-Apr-22 12:40:55

Brilliant. Loved it

Omalinda Sat 30-Apr-22 12:20:22

Both my daughter and I thought it was very funny. Best joke heard in a while. Some people need to lighten up ?

usuallyright Sat 30-Apr-22 12:17:19

I suppose that all the abuse was from labourites, who follow the leadership of the hypocritical labour opposition, who have now been found to be lacking in morality about meetings in a Covid lockdown period.

Situation normal, I suppose!

Jess20 Sat 30-Apr-22 12:15:25

Brilliant!

FarNorth Sat 30-Apr-22 12:15:15

I totally get your point * Grammaretto*.
I loved seeing Jo Brand lay into the blokes on HIGNFY re sexist 'jokes'.

Dylant1234 Sat 30-Apr-22 12:14:59

Some thin skinned Johnson supporters here ?

FarNorth Sat 30-Apr-22 12:10:10

Beckett

Wonder what the reaction would be if the joke was that he was wearing a "vote Labour" t-shirt and "I love Starmer" cap. Howls of outrage no doubt

It wouldn't be funny because Labour & Starmer haven't shown themselves to be (quite so) worthy of contempt as BJ & the Tories.
