My son was wearing a "vote Conservative" t-shirt and an "I love Boris" baseball cap. He's been spat at, abused, slapped around the head and told he's a brainless twat. God knows what's going to happen to him once he gets out of the house.
Sent it to my sons and they thought it hilarious but we are a family who have a great sense of humour!
"Humour" is not an exact science.
Most people have it - but it's individual. So you cannot logically assume that because you find something amusing which others don't, that yours is the defining one.
It's a joke. I found it funny. My parents were labour supporters and when my older brother announced he was a Tory supporter they were not happy with him. No abuse or violence though ?
I thought it was funny. I read the first two lines and thought, "Poor sod, no-one deserves that, even if they do wear a baseball cap", and then laughed at the last line.
No doubt there will be another version of this which mentions the Labour leader or some other politician. Seems we are afraid/unable to see the funny side of anything these days.
I take your point Dickens. You’ve had me reflecting on how I’d feel if “boris” hadn’t been the focus. I decided not to overbthinkbthis. The more Mr Johnson is the butt of jokes that treat him with the contempt he deserves, maybe just maybe he will no longer be sent ax a suitable PM
