Kitchen Tap Help

Try Wolseley. We are about to replace a wash basin and loo and want new taps. Our plumber has given us one of this company's plumbing brochures, page after page of taps.

I am demented looking at Screwfix and Toolstaions, to find ones I like. Our plumber will then have a look at our choices to see what is best.

I know what you mean Marydoll. I've been looking online at Screwfix, B&Q and Wickes. Feel like I've seen hundreds of taps and still not chosen one!

I cannot remember when we last needed to replace taps because they were faulty. Taps have only been renewed in our current house when kitchens and the like have been refitted. We have lived at our curent address for over 25 years.

We have been replacing the cartridges in this tap for a good few years but now the screw has lost it's thread and I can't remove the one causing the tap to constantly drip. Had 2 plumbers to look at it and they both say we need a new tap.

Thanks M0nica. I would assume you have cartridges (otherwise known as valves) in your new taps then. It is looking as though taps with washers are no longer available more's the pity. Costs very little to buy new washers compared to new taps!

Get a plumber to do it for you and accept his recommendation for what tap to have.

We have just had four sets of taps installed in a new extension. we just bought them off the shelf from B&Q or Wickes. The word 'cartridge' was never mentioned, neither in the instructions accompanying the taps, nor by DH nor our plumber.
