Cordless phones

Our landline is rubbish. Crackly and often can't hear the person speaking. Had BT and Sky digging up pavement etc to fix and no luck. Sometimes just use my mobile as at least I can hear. DM has truecall which stops scam calls and BT big button phone (registered blind). She was having loads of scam calls - I check all her calls and can zap them (stop certain numbers). She was upset less people were calling her after that ? She has a community alarm and have been sent labels for the phone when they change to digital. The ring is loud enough though but not cordless as I don't think she would manage to put a cordless one back on the charger. It was a bit muffled at one point but BT fixed it. Are you sure the volume is switched to loud?

if you mean an ordinary land line phone, you cannot do better than call guardian.
never had a scam or marketing call since.

We have had a set of three Gigaset cordless phones for about 10 years. They've worked perfectly well, good clear sound but the ring isn't very loud. This wasn't a problem until recently as I bought a genuine 1950s dial phone on ebay years ago and had it in the hall. It had been adapted to plug in and had a wonderful loud ring which could be heard all over the house. My husband and neighbour were frustrated by our slow broadband so decided to get fibre installed which included a phone package. This now means our phone has to be connected to the router so my lovely old hall phone is redundant. I've been carefully researching phones and decided to go for the Which best buy, BT big button 4600. It's awful, sound is muffled although it does have a loud ring. Any recommendations for cordless phones with a loud ring but clear sound too?
BTW I don't think a lot of people realise that eventually all landline phones will be changing over to this system. I don't like it as ,if there's a power cut then no phone. We live in a rural area with poor mobile reception and power cuts are not unusual in the winter.
