Recommendation for carpet shampooer

I have a Vax all terrain for carpets and hard floors downstairs but it is heavy to take upstairs for carpets. Can anyone recommend a lighter weight machine for upstairs? Any recommendations welcome!

I think by their very nature carpet shampooers are heavy, cumbersome and take up a lot of room to store. As you’re only talking about upstairs, as you can manage downstairs - those carpets won’t get the heavy wear of downstairs, so I think I’d be putting the cost of another big machine towards getting the professionals in. There’s the wet method, using water extraction or the dry method using a powder that’s raked in and vacuumed out. You’ll probably get an ‘offer’ of stairs, landing and bedrooms.

I agree with Georgesgran but you could always ask a younger family member, neighbour or friend to carry it upstairs for you. It would only take a minute! And surely you don't need the upstairs doing very often, so it's not something you would need to keep asking. Your tools should reach up the stairs, but if you struggle then ask the same young person to do the top few stairs. Again, it would only take them a minute.
