My bath towels and hand towels need replacing and I'm not sure which are the best to buy. I normally shop online so am not able to 'feel the quality'.
I'm hoping you lovely people will be able to advise me because I am too ashamed to hang them on the line!

I don't live in the UK so I won't recommend any brand but towels are something it's worth paying more for. Rather buy fewer, better quality than lots of cheap ones. If you will be using a tumble dryer they should have a really thick like and well sewn hems. I have some cheaper ones which have frayed in the dryer and better quality ones which are still thick and their edges are intact despite regular hot washing and tumble drying.

Even using a dryer, I find it is enough to give them half an hour there to soften them and reduce creases then hang them out - outside if it's sunny, in the boiler room if it's wet.

I have been surprisingly pleased with mine from Asda!

I've bought that much from Dunelm I should have shares. I love their towels. Loads of different colours and they wash well.

I have their sheets (which are fabulous) and intend to try their towels next time.

JL or T K Maxx are my recommendations.

While you’re in Dunelm you can get a bacon roll and a coffee, maybe that’s why I like it so much.😉

TKMax for bargain towels of various brands.

I bought towels a couple of years ago in Primark of all places. They have washed well, I bought them in a sale. They may be a tad small for some but I like them.

I love Dunelm😍
Tend to go a bit mad in the towel dept and buy more than I went in there for.

Notice Dunelm mentioned a lot. Their bedding is good too. Some purple pillowslips that are six years old are same colour as the new ones I bought. Just thought I would recommend.

Why not check out reviews on Amazon UK for what most purchasers think?

Your local cat and dog shelter should welcome your old towels - at least mine does.

JL is my first port of call too. Failing JL, M&S.

Dunelm sell Christy, I think.

NotAGran55 Mon 27-Feb-23 16:49:58

I’ve never bought from anywhere other than JL and always been happy with them.

I recommend M and S for towels. Also Next and John Lewis. I understand you like to shop on line but if possible you should try to shop in person for towels. If that doesn’t work for you why not order a few flannels in different towel types which you can then return easily.

I bought some John Lewis towels around 20 years ago. They were in the sale but still not really cheap. They’re still amazingly fluffy and absorbent.

Callistemon21 Mon 27-Feb-23 16:12:24

TwiceAsNice

M&S towels are excellent and are still good condition and as absorbent 7 years later. Dune is good, my friend always buys them but I don’t find them very absorbent when drying, when I visit .

Perhaps she uses fabric conditioner TwiceAsNice
It seems to stop them being absorbent.

Callistemon21 Mon 27-Feb-23 16:11:16

I used to buy Christy towels, paddyann but Dunelm are in fact better.

TwiceAsNice Mon 27-Feb-23 16:07:02

Sorry Dunelm not Dune

I buy Christy towels ,I tend to replace things like towels and bedding quite often when I change colour scheme and they are always excellent quality

Callistemon21 Mon 27-Feb-23 15:59:55

Dunelm Egyptian cotton are the ones I like best.
In fact we went the other day to buy a couple of hand towels and I was tempted to buy more and replace all my towels!
But resisted.

tanith Mon 27-Feb-23 15:57:25

I bought two sets from Dunelm they are still good and they are 4/5 yrs old colour still good too.
