Best (not too pricey) sander?

I bought a belt sander from the middle of Lidl a few weeks ago. It was £39.99 and you could buy extra sandpaper to go with it.

Not sure if they will still have them. The brand name is Parkside. I actually bought it for my son as he is renovating. He has been using it and says it is fine.

I’ve bought other Parkside tools from Lidl and am very pleased with them. Unfortunately, not always available.

Depends what you are sanding really, and how strong you are.

Thanks everyone. Not super-strong. Smoothing out doors, frames and walls ahead of painting really.
Some walls need filling where we have had heavy-duty fixings, one area where we had the consumer unit (electric) moved etc.

I did see one with a point that looked a bit like a rechargable iron. Thought that might be useful but know nothing about them really.

One with a pointy nose and a small dustbag, mine is makita which runs on a battery. This type of sander is good for all spaces, the round (orbital) sanders don`t go into corners. When you use a sander, do use it lightly and keep it moving at first, while you learn to use it

We have one very small black and decker mouse one. Useful for small jobs. Having said that DD has just used it to sand down the floor boards in her house.
