I have a friend who moved to Stamford 6 years ago. It's a lovely town and she is very happy there.

My brother and sister in law moved to Digby 2 years ago. They love it . It's a beautiful place . They brought their 2 bed bungalow for just over £200,000. Needs work which they are doing. But if you find a place you like in the areas you like you need to grab it quick and don't forget to have a good survey done. They had an offer accepted on a 3 bed in different village but pulled out after the survey showed structural problems. Good luck with your hunt.

My choice would definitely be Stamford but property is expensive.

If you’d like to be nearer to Lincoln itself the cliff villages just to the south are lovely.

Also Louth is a really lovely place in the Wolds.

Depends how connected you want to be. The Wolds are pleasant countryside but a bit remote, in my view. Further south east is too flat for my liking.
Right in the south of the county you have Stamford, just off the A1, close to Rutland which is pretty.
It depends what you are looking for in a new area. Don’t forget accessibility to health centres, pharmacy, library, shopping, or public transport, if you have to give up driving.

I lived in Heighington about 3 miles south of Lincoln. Really lovely village with 2 great pubs. I was very happy there but too far away from family in the South, so I moved.

Hi, my husband and I are looking to downsize into a new build property. We are thinking about Lincolnshire. We have already viewed a few places, but have decided we would rather be south of Lincoln. We are going back there next month and have viewings arranged in Bourne, Deeping St Nicholas, Surfleet, Holbeach and Sleaford. Any thoughts on these areas or other areas would be very welcome, thanks
