Im just planning a new kitchen, as its small I was thinking of getting a single oven with a combination oven/microwave built in above.
Does anyone have this and if so how do you find it.
If so what make do you have.
Thanks

I had a new oven with new kitchen, standard oven is fine . Combination oven / microwave is not ! I was assured I could bake in it !! Put a cake in but turntable keeps revolving, cake cooked but had a hole in the centre. It not too bad for other things , but I resort to my standard oven! Mine is Bosch.

I have one and I underuse it. They are actually amazing. We put it in when doing up our kitchen and experiencing one in centerparcs in France of all places years ago.

I have one but I only use the microwave bit I’m afraid, it sits next to my main oven. I forget how to e en use it, must get the manual out.

I have a Panasonic combi/oven. I have had it for two years and do all my cooking in it. I don't use my gas oven at all. As it's a small oven it is economical too.
I have baked scones in it but no cakes so far.

I have a Neff combi microwave/oven. It is the second one I have had because when the kitchen was refitted I needed to get a new one. It is absolutely brilliant - I hardly ever use my big oven. It hasn't got a turntable the shelves inside are metal but somehow the microwave bit works anyway. The only downside is that setting the various functions via the electronic display is rather fiddly but you get used to using it quite easily. It was pricey to buy (£800+ I think} but absolutely worth it. I had the previous one for many years and it needed repairs a couple of times but the repair service was very quick and reliable.

Thank you for your replies.
I dont have bench for a free standing microwave and didnt want to make an expensive mistake.

I have my combi fitted above my big oven, which is at a height which means bending down is not needed. The combi would be a bit high but for the fact that the shelf pulls out which means I can easily and safely put things in and take them out.

I had a Neff and the microwave was not very efficient . Also the oven didn't heat up to what the thermostat was showing, i.e., the thermostat light went out before the oven had reached the desired temperature.
I read somewhere that this was some ploy on the part of Neff to give their products a better energy rating than they actually have.
The microwave element takes up a fair amount of the grill space, so you don't get even coverage when grilling.

When I had my kitchen done last year, I had this - main oven and above it combi microwave. I would say that previously I had NO oven but a brilliant free standing combi microwave inwhich I did all my oven cooking.

I did ask if I could have this microwave placed in spare space aove oven, but elecriain told me that free standing ones should NEVER be put into a fitted area. So, I had to have a new one. This is one without a turntable, (which is brilliant - allows large dishes to go in there), but does not have the oven cooking facility like my free standing one.

Only me here, I rarely need to use the main oven *(main use is the occasional one for the grill), although useful for cakes. However, with my new large drawer airfryer sitting alongside this oven combination, find my use of main oven is only very occasional.

If I was having the kitchen done THIS year, I might noit even bother with a main oven, just have fitted combi-microwave and airfryer.

Thanks it a bosch oven I had decided on.
I will have a look at the samsung combi.

I bought a Samsung combi oven 3 years ago. It is a real workhorse, from the usual to baking, slim frying, healthy cooking. I have proved and baked bread in it,scones banana loaf, victoria spong, all successfully . Wouldn't be without it.

I have a built in combi, ancient now, but I wouldn’t be without it. I can have both functions on at the same time, so 2 big jacket potatoes with crispy skins, in 14 minutes.

I have a Samsung combi, great for everything. The turntable can be turned off for baking.
