I bought one of those Flash speed mops (I know, you hear the darn song every time you say it 🙄). I've just done my kitchen ceiling with it and I'm very impressed.

I never get rid of spiders, I like them.

I don't like them pooing everywhere, despite living in the downstairs loo, it is not toilet trained.

Once you recognise spider poo you start seeing it everywhere. Venetian blinds are the worst places to spot it. I have a special vileda supermop that I use to remove cobwebs. I’m at my daughters at the moment though. She has one of those glass skylights and wasps keep coming in when I let the dog out. They fly up to the sky light and disappear. A day or so later they drop down onto the island under the skylight because the resident spider has finished with them so I shout thank you spider to it. I don’t dislike wasps but my dogs tend to be allergic to them and I have a fear of drowsy wasps hiding in accessible places.

Useless….don’t clean the floor. Went back to proper bucket of hot water and mop .

I am still trying to figure out why people mop their ceilings 🤷‍♀️

Me too.

I'm wondering what's wrong with me .....

Mind you, DH did splat some funny little flies that kept landing on the ceiling and and to keep washing off the marks!

Where are you going to send the used pads to the recycling centre?

Thanks for that info - bought one ages ago but not used it yet.
So very useful to know before I start.

With four dogs and adult children still at home and entire downstairs laminated or tiled they are a bloody godsend !! Now I’m singing the song !

Hi Ladies.
If you use the washable cloths on your flash mop does that mean your using soap and water as I’m guessing they’re not impregnated like the disposable ones.

My husband uses the squirt-on Method Rhubarb scented liquid too, not the cheapest but you don't use much, it works very well and smells lovely. He uses it with a microfibre mop but I guess it would work with cloths on a Flash mop.
We use the same mop with different liquid on our sealed wooden floors.

This is the Lakeland one I use, replacement mop pads are available.

They can be used damp or with the addition of floor sprays, my favourite is Method’s Rhubarb floor spray.

Oh yes, I bought one in Lidl years ago, that might reach the ceiling!
🤔

Callistemon21 Fri 18-Aug-23 15:11:20

Is this something revolutionary?
It's just that about 15 years ago I had an Addis mop which sounds similar and I used a microfibre cloth tucked into it rather than disposable wipes.

The present lovely lass who cleans for me is from Albania and like all the others, doesn’t appreciate wasting money. The mop gets used with a damp cloth poked into the corners built for the cleaning pads. After every use the cloth get rinsed out and popped into the washing machine. I’ve still got the original pads supplied with the machine!!!!

Changing the subject in a way (but talking about ceiling spiders), my daughter saw one on our lounge ceiling and, for some reason, named it Katherine. I let her stay as she was by the window and very good at wrapping up midges. She disappeared one day and I thought she'd gone out of the window.
Found her again when she dropped onto my head when I was making the bed and I'm (almost) ashamed to say that she didn't last long after that... I screamed and did the dance of horror until she fell off, whereupon the dog pounced and splatted her.

I must look for that GrannyGravy as I like other Method products.

Oh the guy with the dog on advert? Not noticed if he looks like poldarks vicar, must look closer next time😄(do you mean the pastor? Was'nt he poldark's brother-in-law?) Anyway ive tried all manner of floor cleaning but i found best thing was to hire a cleaner to do it 🤣

Callistemon21 Fri 18-Aug-23 12:27:17

I bought a Vileda spray mop with reusable mop head.
That is good.

Nannan2 Fri 18-Aug-23 12:25:54

Smileless- yes i noticed same- whatever i use always the slippers sticking- is it to do with a vinyl flooring maybe?

Callistemon21 Fri 18-Aug-23 12:25:35

I shall investigate this Speed Mop.

The only mop which may impress me is one that is automatic and cleans floors by itself.

Nannan2 Fri 18-Aug-23 12:22:26
