Has anyone painted tiles with tile paint, and if so, was it a success?
I've had someone in to look at my kitchen, and I'm waiting for a quote to have new doors and various other things fitted - the carcasses are sound and don't need to be replaced. The tiles are in perfect condition, but are very '90s' (square, randomly placed green, yellow, cream and orange). I asked about getting them replaced and the designer suggested we paint them with tile paint. She said that the size of the tiles is in fashion, it is just the colours that date them, and that she painted hers four years ago and they still look good. She used a roller and a couple of coats of tile paint.
I am getting my bedrooms decorated later in the year, and I'm sure my decorator would paint the tiles, too if I asked, but I've never heard of anyone doing this. I'm concerned that the paint will chip or wear off, I suppose, and that it might not look good. OTOH, I can see the kitchen woman's point and it would save quite a lot of money. I am thinking that if it doesn't work, I could get the tiles replaced next year, and as there is special tile paint, maybe it doesn't chip.
Can anyone advise, please?

. I'll definitely consider it when I get the quote and decide what to do.
