New brushed cotton fitted sheet, new all seasons duvet and matching pillowcases and cover. The reverse is fine pale grey/white stripes. Can’t wait to get to bed tonight.

I love new bedding and towels. I will have to have a charity shop sort out now! OH helped me put new duvet in cover and I was all set to send to charity shop and he put it back in the new zip bag and said”it might come in useful.” I am no better off. 🤣🤣

I've just treated myself to some new, soft, fluffy towels.
I'm struggling to get used to them as I think my old, slightly rough, towels did a better job of drying me after a shower 🤦🤣

There's nothing like getting into a bed with new bedding. V3ra I always wash new towels before I use them.

V3ra Sun 17-Dec-23 01:46:59

Oh I have washed them! I realised after I posted I should have said that.
Ironically I have also washed and tumble dried the old ones, ready for the charity shop, and they're much improved now 😵‍💫

V3ra I get all my towels from Dunelm and I've washed them endlessly and they are still good. I need some new flannels though as they are getting holes in them...lol

I love brushed cotton bedding. Currently we have a several years old Tesco red checked duvet cover and fitted sheet and a new this year silver grey MS flat sheet under the duvet.

It all looks so cosy and is so cosy. And also everything stays in place. I look forward to getting into bed each night. Tonight I listened to Bruce Springsteen on BBC Sounds "Soul Music" in bed. Bliss.

Slept like a baby under my new bedding. Hardly moved!

Looks lovely Primrose. I wash towels and bedding first, too because of the starchy stuff they sometimes use. It makes me itch for some reason.

Oh Primrose, your new bedding looks so pretty.

Primrose53 Sun 17-Dec-23 10:56:42

Thank you. The design is called Chickadees which sounds better than the British version “Tits”. 🤣🤣🤣

I have fleece bedding - duvet cover, sheets and pillow cases - I love it! Washes and dries in a flash and above all else so lovely and warm, now I no longer have a man to cuddle up to.

I love new bedding too. I have moved to coverless duvets (the ones where the whole thing goes in the wash) and find them far more convenient and comfortable. I am currently working round the bedrooms preparing for the family coming for Christmas, and love the smell of the newly laundered bedding in each room.

I’ve been doing a lot of renovations this winter, and bought new towels as part of the general declutter. I washed them and put them in a new wardrobe so they didn’t get used before Christmas, and they now smell of wood, so I’ll probably wash them again grin. If the weather improves I will air them on the line first to see if that helps, but I think they’ll have absorbed the smell.

Very nice! Are those finches I see on the bedding?

Fairycakes Tue 19-Dec-23 11:18:33

I love fleecy sheets in the winter. Much cosier than ordinary cotton ones 🤗

New bedding and clean pj's smelling of Comfort fabric conditioner. Heaven!

New bedding looks lovely. It makes such a difference to how you sleep. I'm battling this chest infection now and I needed to change my hot sweaty bed yesterday even though that in itself was exhausting. I had a much better night on lovely cool, freshly ironed bed linen.
N.B. While I sitting her behaving myself playing on the lap top DH is ironing the set we took off yesterday.

When my bed and bedding arrived after 6 months in storage while I sorted out my new abode, it was like having new bedding all over again. My very favourite is a white duvet set in lovely soft cotton, with a Rennie Mackintosh motif. I've had it for 20 years and it's as good as new. My alternative set was bought in a JL sale. It's very pretty with butterflies in soft colours.

I love bedding sets, too! I am trying to control my urges to indulge in the upcoming sales, but it will be hard! I have picked up some lovely sets from Dunelm and Wayfair this year, including a brushed cotton pattern with holly and robins and another one with squirrels. I usually only have brushed cotton in the winter, but was tempted by a seasonal fleece set from Wayfair. I thought it would be too sweaty, but it's really soft and snuggly, and not too hot at all. I am strict now, and operate a 'one in, one out' policy, sending the old ones to charity, but I do find it difficult to part with a favourite duvet set!

I love bedding. Always used to have flannelette sheets and duvet cover in the winter as like a cosy bed but a cold room. Now I have a mattress topper I find I prefer cotton sheets. Have several bedding sets and just cannot resist white duvet sets.

You've inspired me to order new bedding which will arrive on Friday in time for Christmas! It's called Autumn Meadows from Dunelm. Can't wait...

Kim19 Tue 19-Dec-23 18:00:23

Jersey bedding for me. SO cosy.

Edge26 Tue 19-Dec-23 18:14:24

I have brought 3 sets of brushed cotton duvet covers and fitted sheets. Can't wait to get to bed and never want to get up in the morning!!.
