Sago

Siemens mid range £500 ish but with a great guarantee.

Yes, mine's a Siemens

I rarely use more than two or three programmes on my washing machine so it was a waste of money spending more on one with multiple programmes.

I'd look at Which and comparison sites first.

Having a shortish (eg 30-40minute) programme is a good idea. The shortest on mine is 15 minutes (ok for a freshen up) but the next is over an hour.

AO have a "store" on ebay, where you can buy graded white goods.
I bought my little tumble dryer from them, as it may not have been in it's original packing. (It was, actually)

All my white goods have been one of the cheapest on the market, and have lasted nearly 25 years - Indesit - probably more luck than judgement.

AO Appliances - Deals - Clearance

They currently have half a dozen washing machines at £250 or cheaper, including Bosch and Indesit, and even more under £300.

DD and I have bought appliances from them in the last year. She bought a Samsung washing machine and I bought a Samsung dishwasher at considerably reduced prices.

I don't use the app either - can't fathom why anyone would!

I have a LG mid range washing machine bought new last summer. I can recommend it.

I always buy a basic model - I only ever use a couple of programmes anyway. The one I have now is from John Lewis, it's well over 10 years old and to date has never gone wrong. But now I've said it ......... !

I have a mid-range Hoover model that, touch wood, has been running like clockwork for ten years - so was lucky this time. Still, I often soak washing overnight, then just run it through the rinses with an EcoEgg.

I have the Hoover H wash, and am very happy with it.
I shopped and shopped around, and ended up paying less than £300 for it smile
I think it's a smart machine and can be used with an app, but I don't do any of that.

I’ve been there and not worth the money.
We have the Samsung machine, with the sock drawer.
The best
