Steam Mops anyone have one?

I use mine regularly on my tiled floors. It does have two settings, a turbo one for extra steam so the floor doesn't get too wet. It gets a lot of dirt off the floors as I have two dogs and a cat. It's a Karcher one and very manoeuvrable ( not sure about that spelling sorry pedants )

My Daughter got one , loved it , bought me one , I couldn’t manage it , my cleaning lady quite liked it but I noticed her using my spinning mop more than the steamer
Daughters broke , she never replaced it , mine broke , cleaning lady seemed happy

Yes I have one. It is fine. I use one cover for each room as there is so much filth mopped up. I use it once a week and we have parquet oak flooring plus tiles on the ground floor. Only tiles in the bathrooms upstairs.

I’ve hardly used mine - found it too much of a faff, for not exactly spectacular results.

For cleaning the oven, in the past I did once Get A Man In! TBH it’s well overdue again.

Rarely use ours. Mr C sometimes wields it on the ceramic tiles on the bathroom floor and very, very occasionally on the laminate in the conservatory. Doesn't leave it too wet. I have been known to go round the carpet edges against the skirting boards. Its main use it to refresh hand embroidered curtains which are now about 70 years old. I no longer dare wash them. Never tried the oven attachment. It’s a bit of a faff to set up and won’t be replaced when the inevitable happens and it no longer works.

I have one to use on a large slate floor but after using it although the floor is clean it dries with a greyish dust finish on the tile surface. I then buff this off.

I have stopped using it, as an employee at a tile company told me, the fine dust is from the grout lines and therefore I have reverted back to a mop.

Mine is left redundant too much effort involved so unused now. I much prefer the Flash speed mop put a cloth in clean the floor bin the cloth the job done.

I have a Lakeland one, it’s fine on my floors, but bloody useless at cleaning the oven.

I have one - used it on my tiled kitchen floor, but it left the tiles very wet, so it's been stuck unused, in the pantry for a couple of years!

I've used one (well a succession) on vinyl & laminate floors for about 12 years & floors have come to no harm.It doesn't 100% sterilize them unless you leave it for 30 seconds so that would take hours on my expanse of floor, but it has to be more hygienic than mop & mop-bucket. Never have to go back over them even when the dogs have been running in & out off the lawn.

If your hardwood floor has been properly laid and sealed, it’ll come to no harm being steam-mopped.

Have lvt so would never use one as over time it lifts the planks ...my DD uses hers daily...she loves it

I’ve had two and they’re fine on tiled flooring . The mop cover is filthy after one use , so it must clean . I do have a dog though

I have one. You're not supposed to use them on Amtico, but so far so good. We have dogs, and babies crawling around, so I imagine all germs get killed because no one is ever ill.

I’ve been using various models for years (when they break, they’re unrepairable).
I use mine on tiles and sealed hardwood. It takes a number of ‘passes’ to sanitize floors, but judging by the mop heads (wash, but don’t use softener) they do clean.
The up-market ones have a sort of cradle to use to freshen up the pile of rugs and carpets, but they’d be no good for proper carpet cleaning (IMO). They also have ‘bonnets’ to fit over the head (the mop, not yours!) to clean windows and when the hand-held bit is detached, there are little wire heads to use for hob/ovens/grouting.
Look up H2o mop. Expensive, but there’s a saving on all the cleaning products/detergents.

I can’t use one on the Karndean here, but happily used one on tiled flooring only in Françe, not the oven though!

I bought one from Lakeland but it made the tiled floors very wet despite my following the instructions, so it is no more. I wouldn’t have dared use it on the wooden floors. You would have had to be a contortionist to use it in the oven!

I ve been looking too and some do have bits that clean ovens I want one mainly for the bathroom and tiles that I can no longer reach without perching on the bath edges which is not such a good idea 🙃
