Extra Water in Washing Machine

Isn’t that the whole point of an eco machine? They are designed to work well with less soap and water and no I don’t add extra water.

I would never have thought about doing that and am quite happy with my wash as it is.

My ancient machine is still plodding along nicely but I noticed just this morning how little water appeared to be in my daughter’s machine when I set it off.

The modern eco machines are designed to use less water so I’d be concerned your top up might eventually cause damage to the sensors.

I thought the machine controlled the amount of water in the machine? I think mine does.

So if you add extra water first (I’m assuming that’s how you’re doing it) the machine will add less.

I know if I put something dripping wet in the machine it knows and doesn’t add as much as it would if I’d added dry items.

Perhaps you should buy a top loader? I used to have one years ago and you could set it for half or full loads. It filled with water accordingly.

No, machines are now efficient running on less water, if it is because you like looking at it then I dont suppose it does any harm.

Perhaps you are overloading your machine with items to be washed?

I think if you add extra water the sensors will detect that and get rid of it anyway. The amount of water taken into the machine automatically is the amount required for optimum efficiency.

Years ago I loved watching the washing sloshing about in the bubbles but with these eco washing machines they only add what they need
Since I got Netflix I have more interesting things to watch.

More likely that you are using too much detergent and/or fabric conditioner.

I’d rather watch paint dry as a form of entertainment I think 😄

No the washing machine adds as much water as for the wash selected.
