Safety gates

Hi. We are becoming new grandparents in October and are looking for a safety stair gate (bottom) that is suitable for dogs too. Lots of confusing choices. Anyone have any recommendations please?

We have these at the top and bottom of our stairs. They're very effective and fold back neatly when they're not needed.

See if you can find someone selling used ones. Children are always growing so there will be many young families whose children don't need them any more. Then you can see them before you buy them and ask about the seller's experience with them.

And if the child is being born in October, you won't need them for at least a year!
